I swear I read a story somewhere that mentioned her translating a journal or some other document for Clainin. Can't find it now, but I've never had the impression she was unintelligent.

During the Samurai Empire \ Mondain's Legacy arc she was always a little off the wall, but could 'see beyond' things that were going on.
I'm more worried about: “They are… not eternal, they have been created, as an… archetype, a shadow of a greater… danger. One which has not yet turned towards us, not yet…”

I think you need to think of them more as padding than pending.
My read: the devs are seeing that Sept 8th deadline for shipping SA getting closer and closer, it's consuming all their time and making a mess of the event plans, but they are trying to give us a trickle of imagination-fodder as an acknowledgment they haven't forgotten about the story arc building up to the opening of the abyss even if there are only X hours in the day to prep stuff.
