Thank you for the informatiom.

The time of day indicated there means which time zone ?

Sidney ? London ? Hawaii ? San Francisco ? Rio de Janeiro ?

The world is quite big and time is different around it at the same instant.......
Did you even bother going to the EM website for your shard? Mine show and clearly state the times in CST (Central Standard Time). Every one that I pulled up clearly stated whether it was EST, CST or PST. Now I suppose you want to know if that includes Daylight Savings Time?

It was kinda cute in your first 7,243 postings, how you ranted before ever checking the facts, but you could check these out for yourself. Seriously, most of your questions can be answered in less time that it takes for you to post.

Yes, I went to the Website and this is what I found written

Come to the Reward Hall to get your own cloak! Find the Reward Hall by jumping through the black vortex next to the West Counselor Guild Hall in Britain Trammel.

Thursday August 13th at 8pm

Monday August 17th at 9am

Friday August 21st at Noon

If you can’t make it to these events, there may be other opportunities to get them in the future!

Please if you find any reference in the above text about a specific time zone let me know so that I will know........

Supposedly tomorrow at "noon" there will be an Event but "whose" noon is it supposed to be ??

Ahh... you're checking out Catskills. What I should have said is that all of the EM websites are maintained by the EM's themselves... NOT by Stratics. It does mention Eastern Time in the other events, which wasn't too hard to find. You should contact your EM for your suggestion using the feedback option on that webpage.

Each and every Event is different, "might" be handled by a different individual living who knows in what time zone of the world and so, whatever time zone applied for other events clearly cannot indicate the time zone for a current event.

Bottom line is, the time for the current events lacks any indication of the applicable time zone.

I will try contacting the moderator but who knows if I will be able to get a reply in time to attend the event at whatever time zone it is supposed to be........

Now I am just guessing but,
It is the Atlantic server, and all other Atlantic events are ran on EST time......these might also be on EST time:thumbsup:

You know, one would think that all related to the game was under control of the owners of the game......

I mean, years back, there where the official Forums on UO.COM.

Then, whatever the reasons, they where shut down and since then, that I know of, Stratics became the one way to keep in touch with the developers and official representatives.

Now, one would imagine that EMs, doing activities which are game related, where still tied to the game. Hence, since Stratics after the closing of the UO.COM Forums became THE way of contact for players and game related things, it comes natural to think that also events can be dealt with on Stratics.....

It may be another site, but they follow directions from the game owners, I imagine....

Anyways....

It is a guess yes, but other guesses could be possible as well.

For example, what if the person doing the event lives, say, in Hawaii ?

One could imagine that when the "noon" time was indicated, it was, thinking of Hawaii noon time.

It is also a possibility, isn't it ?

For those of you who have a hard time getting items at events due to the rabble and crying. . .Try playing on Siege, this is how we do it:

Everyone sitting quietly and waiting patiently. . .
lol sad the "PvP" shard is the one thats the most organized and respectful to the EM's lol. Then again the EM's would probably PK you there for some of the stuff that goes on my shard LOL! Nicely done though siege, mad props.

Another guess is that you would do the right thing, and send a message to the shard EM and give them a chance to respond or fix it. How long has it been since you sent the EM feedback? Another guess is that you would be a bit more courteous and remember that the folks who run these websites AND the EM's are volunteers and don't have to provide these services; they aren't here for just you.

And another guess is that I would have learned by now not to get caught in another stupid endless Popps discussion.

On Napa our EM's set out lanterns in Luna with the 3 times they were
going to hand them out. Did this for 2 or 3 days I believe. The lanterns are
a great form of communication. We also have a News Dude that is specifically
for Napa Events at the same location.

You mean like this posting on the Catskills shard that Popps was asking about? That would have been a good place to ask for clarification....

Saw the lanterns. Didn't help me because I could not attend those dates/times. Went to the rewards house. Found a book there that peeps were writing in so I left my grievance and suggestions for a better handout system.

Went to the EM's blog page. Noted that the last update was back in July, around the 23rd or thereabouts. Could not leave a comment there so I emailed them my displeasure, suggestion and inquired on when I might be able to meet them in person. That was done approximately a week ago. No response to date.

Why am I not surprised? I'm sorry but our two previous EM's were way better at communication than what is currently available to us. Current ones suck doodoo if you asked me. (Yes, I am out of patience... so what?)

I know last week Dawn put out a lot of lanterns on our shard. Some were for 10am PST, some were for 8pm PST. I couldn't make it to the early morning ones, but I bet a lot of people who went to those couldn't make it to the 8pm ones. So that was a good thing the EM did.

Also if yor gonna give feedback I think the official feedback thing is here: http://www.uoherald.com/feedback/index.php

And what makes you think I didn't do that?

Besides, what's the use of having EMs (that have email info on their webpage) if I can communicate directly with them?

Anyway, I'm not going to argue with anyone. I've said what I needed to say and that's it.

Done.

My god popps!

Ever try asking people in the Atlantic forums??
Ever consider since it's the Atlantic shard that it's EST like every event schedule there?
Ever consider actually asking people on your shard or even your EM instead of acting like a child and arguing over every little thing?????

Your attitude is VERY counterproductive to finding answers.

Great Lakes has some truly awesome EM's.... not only do they post events on their website.... but they do quite a bit of work getting things ready.

I have quite a bit of respect for them considering some of the sniveling whiners we have on GL's... and the inconsiderate scum who attend many events only to ignore and given "rules" or requests and continue to spam insults along with EXTREMELY vulgar language that if I cared to filter wouldn't be seen and oft times ought to result in a perma ban.

Yet through it all they GM's remain calm for the most part and try to carry on the event for the rest of the shard, who most certainly enjoy the events.

I can't complain at all about our EM's. Not only do they put up with quite a lot they shouldn't have to really if EA did things right they would have a GM at these events and just ban or jail most of the trouble makers from the git go so the rest of the community can enjoy the event in peace. But most of us are aware that the EM's really have NO control over these things.

They have handled the cloaks and everything else the best they can given the shear scope of the task.

That said it's my opinion that EA/UO and the DEV team have FAILED to implement a proper system for giving out such rewards. They ought to do things more like the Japanese shards and put the rewards into a statue and those that want one come up double click the statue and get the item... or a gump to "choose" an item and have it either one item per character or one per account and then free up time for the EM's to provide fun entertainment rather than making them suffer through lines and lines of insults and putting up with all the whining and complaining...

The Japanese have a FAR better system in place for giving out special items. Wooden cow anyone?

That's my feelings on the matter.

That's sweet. On Legends, they decided to only give them out after the final battle, which ended at an ungodly hour for most people. Sure wish they would give them out, at least once more. The EM website hasn't been updated since July 11th, and they do use the lanterns, they are out at the moment for the 10-11 people who will show up for the pvp tourny.... oh well...

Well ... I didn't get my Cloak of Silence either and I'm a little upset about it since it would have been (for once) a very handy item for me (with its +10 stealth).

I can't blame the EM of my shard nor their website which is very well updated but I just couldn't make it for different reasons and I think all in all it's quite unfair.

I would like to get a Cloak of Silence popping into my pack without having to be somewhere at a given time.

*asking the EM* : Can you make it so pls ? Ty.

I was surprised they did not use moongates. For those who remember the first anniversary where we got gifts, the bag spawned in our backpacks but to get the plate (the one with the really long name about the Gem of Immortality shattering) you had to walk through a moongate outside the west Britain bank. It was limited to one per character, but everyone could get one. Since the cloaks are not meant to be rare, this would let everyone get one and would take the load off the EMs and Mesanna/the GMs involved in making them.

Be careful all ye that post complaints. Lest you're likely to get a condescending PM telling you what to do and what you should not do.

All because I wrote that I weren't interested in arguing with anyone and that I was done??? The person also failed to note that a few posts before my "offending" he/she/it, I had forewarned that I was out of patience and hinted that I really didn't care about the subject anymore by concluding my statement with "so what?" One would think, "Hmmm, perhaps I better just leave well alone", but nope not this person.

Tell you how clueless this person is, in my response to this ridiculous PM I stated that the person should backoff but did she/he/it? NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOoooooooooooo. I informed the "offended" that I would post a response on here should he/she/it decide to respond to my nastygram. And yes, I responded with a nastiness this sort of crap deserves. Then I stuck that person on my ignore list.

Some people ought to take their own advice, or at least learn to observe and get a clue! Now I'm really done with this thread/issue and won't be looking back.

Well, this is UHall and whatnot. Its part of what makes game forums the laughing stock of serious discussion elsewhere.

People can't seem to grasp that other people's opinions are just that, opinions. Everybody has got one and one is just a valid as the next, even if its different then yours. The best course of action is to state your opinion once, read the others, and then see if your mind is changed or not. No need to repeatedly post back and forth or diss other folks ideas. It just clutters up the board with worthless words and fails to improve the game in any manner.

not a likely one. a good rule of thumb... times posted are almost always (maybe always?) local shard time. so hypothetically if you live in hawaii you'd have to convert the time for how many hours difference you'd be to that shard's local time zone. east coast shards = EST, west coast shards = PST, not sure what time zone european/australian/asian shards are, but there's many handy time zone conversion calculators online. here's how ea groups shards:

It is a guess, an educated one based on the fact that all events that I know of have happened on EST.

One could imagine that on the east coast the sun will not rise in the eastern sky tomorrow...It is also a possibility? isn't it?, But since it always has in the past I will continue to guess that it will.

Why don't you go ahead and guess that all Atlantic shard events are on that of Hawaii HST, and I will guess that they are on Atlantic EST, and let see who makes it to more events
