Is it possible to have animal followers take up decimal points of taming slots?

Just seems odd we're limited to packs of 5 or 2 or 1. Two animals (boura for example) definitely isn't a pack. Any chance we could get some medium creatures take up 1.5 control slots so that we can have packs of 3? Or really weak creatures take up 0.5 control slots? (like rabbits, squirrels other "pet" animals).

It would definitely open up the possibility of giving tamers more variety.
And this would open up the possibility for flying gargoyles to take up 0.5 control slots to balance GDs, and Rising Colossi could take up 4.5 slots.
(though this wouldn't be so great for those of us who like to run with packs of 5 [hell hounds/ostards])

[Odd that it seems no one in the Uhall has picked up on the PvP controversy of Gargoyles Flying with GDs]

Also: whoever though up Boura needs a promotion. Dragon-cows? Is there *anything* more awesome?

Meh, I thought it might be a problem until I actually got to play around with the Gargs. Flying is a huge stamina drain, can be circumvented with Stamina Regen items (Which would take some of my imbuing slots) Focus (Which would take up some of my skill points). I could use Refresh pots, but the delay makes them not so ubber.

It's actually one of the things I sent in to the FoF a few times prior to playing. Was a concern for me originally but no so much now.

Edited to Add: Oops forgot to say anything about the main point lol. Personally I am against the .5 idea. Leaves the door open for to much. You could end up with someone running around with 10 Scorpions or the Poison beetles forgot there name oO. Maybe a 2 wolf spiders and 2 of the smaller spiders. 10 Ostards vs. 5 Frenzied Ostards. That door being open can truly make Tamers OP oO.

It's easier to leave them as positive integers. So in the case you have presented, an alternative is to maybe increase the control slots to 10, and double the required slots of pets in general, then tweak the numbers slightly - eg ethys take 1, and domesticated pets take 1. GDs still takes 10. Bouras take 5 (instead of just doubling it to 6), allowing the pack instinct to kick in.

Larger numbers allows finer control for minor tweaks like these. For even finer controls, the numbers can be increased further.

A funny thing on pack instinct would be to expand packs. So lets say take all pets of a group into account instead of only the pets of a single tamer.

Except I suspect these are really integers times 10 when stored.

Yea either one works, but decimal seemed like it'd take less work. Dont have to convert all the current tameables. Bouras would be a good example of a monster you should be able to get in packs of 3. 3 slots for ruddy and lowland, 4 slots for highland.

Decimals could be more useful for packs of 4 animals, 1.25 in the old system, 2.5 in the doubled system.
