I think being in Flying Mode, even if you are not moving, should drain Stamina. I am at the bank and see a dozen Gargoyles all flapping their wings. It is very annoying. You should only be flying when you are actually going to use it.
Focus 60 or SR 6 will mitigate MOST stamina loss in flight.Well I was flying around fast it was very nice and it drained all my stamina so I had to get focus.
Was wondering if being a gargoyle means that you cannot regen stamina and need to have focus like I heard someone say about elves. I had wondered why my elven smith kept running out of stamina.
Oh yeah stamina regen armor I forgot about that. I will have to try some.
You think that's annoying, do you realize how badly scuffed up floors in stores and homes get by all the horses and exotic animals ridden into them!I am at the bank and see a dozen Gargoyles all flapping their wings. It is very annoying.
You are an incredibly helpful person so I'm going to be extra nice in this response.Focus 60 or SR 6 will mitigate MOST stamina loss in flight.
Focus 80 or SR 8 will mitigate ALL stamina loss in flight.
JC - I have an issue with the rude people who do not "land" when standing at the bank, too, but I do not think that the Dev's should do anything about it. Try *politely* asking the people to land so that their flapping wings are not in the way![]()
I don't know are you going to make everyone preparing for a battle get off their mounts if they are just going to stand there for 3 to 5 seconds then? Remember this will make them slow to lift off.... like mounting an ethy.......
As above, make it so that if a gargoyle spends more than 3 to 5 seconds hovering in a spot, then it lands, want to fly again, then hit your flight icon/macro/etc.
heh. I was kinda thinking this. I can think of many situations where I might have to stand around for even several minutes where I would NOT want to have to "take off" for a quick get-away. The bank *usually* is not one of those places, thoI don't know are you going to make everyone preparing for a battle get off their mounts if they are just going to stand there for 3 to 5 seconds then? Maybe, rather than an animated hover in place, they could temporarily "land", animation-wise, then fly again when they move.
Not that it bothers me particularly, either way, but it -should- be mechanically similar to riding.
I have been using Focus 70 and it has been keeping me going. 70 is an awkward number for Focus and I only have it that way because of the Skill Bonus's. Other wise I would be at the 60 MarkFocus 60 or SR 6 will mitigate MOST stamina loss in flight.

Now THAT would concern me...... not to mention drive me bats!...
Oh can you just not WAIT until the first big ingame event when all the new garg characters come out toting super dragons with them to the non-combat event to make sure that the thing turns into nothing but a screen full of flapping wings?
It's a matter of opinion what's rude, just like some people think it's rude to talk on a cell phone while at a restaurant. Of course, my response to those people is when you stop talking to your friends at the restaurant, I'll stop talking on my cell phone. Of course, I don't have a cell phone, but these people bug me all the same. Just because you're easily annoyed doesn't mean it's rude. It just means you're easily annoyed.Focus 60 or SR 6 will mitigate MOST stamina loss in flight.

An eloquent little piece of writing! The solution is Shift-Ctrl bringing up stable tags for everything. Another solution is to provide Circle-of-Transparency type toggles for screen wing animation. The wing flap up and down, usually, via Murphy's Law, covering what you are trying to grab or open on the down flap, so that you end up selecting the gargoyle in question, so that their paperdoll pops up in the middle of you play window, blocking you view of what you were trying to pick up. As soon as you clear up that problem and go to select/grab/open the desired item again and *wham!* The 2 year old squirms away squealing!
*laughs* that reminds me of trying to drag the bar of a tzuki wolf! Grrr! They always bow and I end up grabbing my own bar instead!Imagine trying to wipe the face on a sugared up 2 year old ...

*rereads last post* No, they should only do that if they make it so you have to dismount to loot/pick up, etc.
I pretty much agree that just making the idle animation not have the flapping wings part would be lovely.
