"You must heal your mount before riding it"

Heya,

Is that "You must heal your mount before riding it" a new thing? Ran into this problem yesterday with my samurai trying to mount my lesser hiruy which was in half health.

Atleast faction horses I can mount when it's low health... Maybe its just the hirus then.

That message is from using the Riding Swipe special Move I believe. It's just currently bugged in that it doesn't effect faction war horses..

Argh... Then my char is bugged.

I just tried smacking my hiru with my hatchet to 50 % life and I can't mount it. No specials used...

you also get that now if your mount is poisoned

I got the same thing yesterday with my swamp dragon. I accidently double click on myself in battle, and dismounted. The swampy helped me kill my target, but got down to about half life. Couldn't mount him until he was at full life.

I hope this is a permanent addition. Not only does it add to the RP value, but it might help keep some of the gimp templates down by requiring magery, chiv or vet skill to heal before continuing.

ive always hated this even with riding swip. Think about you you get dismounted with 5 ppl on you solo only chance of getting away is a house (gawd i hate house hiders) or getting on mount and running. If you can get on the mount then your doomed becouse here come 4 gdragons. I can accept it as a part of riding swip if i have to but not as a general rule for all pets. I still think that even for riding swip it should be till healed or double the dismount timer.

I noticed the same thing with my swamp dragon. i dismount myself, let it get hit once, need to heal before hopping back on. Since maybe two weeks or so, can't remember for sure.

Most "gimp" templates have chiv up enough to quickly heal. It is a non-issue. just new.

I was not implying that it was only swipe, I was just correcting the Meanie's spelling.

As a tamer, I deal with healing my pet in the heat of battle all the time. Not sure what your point was.

We can't save mounts (like cu or nightmare) from death hiding them under own butt now?
