Approximately five minutes per charge.
Do you have to be logged in for it to recharge or will it do it while logged out?... Thanks

However, if you leave it in your secure container, it will recharge.
I have at least 2 sets that I rotate, so that the ones that have been recently used is recharging back in my house

they're all super slayers of different types, Aboo.... very handy, but if ya don't pay attention you can lose it

I'll quit bugging you in a min. Are you randomly given a slayer when you chose it?
Added: I think the link you posted gave me the answer. They are random, correct?
They WERE random. They dropped during the Treasures of Tokuno event.
I have two of each of the six, and even still, I NEVER let them get below one hundred charges.

Personally, I have never tested using it until it reached 0 either. Like Sarsmi, I am paranoid and monitor the charges closely to avoid it going poof.
I also carry 2 gm tassled tambourines that I will switch to, in order to avoid wasting charges on non-aligned mobs or if charges are running low. 1 will be insured so that I can peace any mobs hovering near my corpse when I die.
As PK says, it's a minor arty that will drop in your pack if you kill any Tokuno mobs in ToT1 and 2. The type of slayer you would get was randomly determined when it appeared in your backpack. You can't choose the type of slayer you get.
I have never traded any of my flutes in for a major TOT arty. It's the most useful TOT mini arty imho. Second place goes to the gloves of the sun
I have a set for my bard, took me forever to find out how to recharge them. Its not something anyone I knew was aware of.

Sorry to dredge up an old post but in my quest for different TOT information I found that I needed more info regarding the Flutes of Renewal.
How do you recharge the Flutes of Renewal?
Someone posted that there were 6 different ones. I have:
Undead Slayer
Arachnid Slayer
Demon Slayer
Reptile Slayer
What 2 am I missing?

If you put the flute in the hotbar in the SA client does it display the charges? If not it should... then you would have yet another reason to use SA

Can anyone tell me how to recharge it?
The flutes will recharge in your backpack or bank while you are logged in. They will recharge in your house secures whether you are logged in or not. The rate is one charge per five minutes regardless of where it is.

Thats how I do it, I have two Slayer Reptile and should the one get near to 200 charges left, I just swap them.If you logout with it in your pack, it will not recharge.

So far I have only needed to do this once in 14 months.
I keep an Exceptional Instrument for normal use. I switch to the Flute when I am going after any Reptile (Dragons, Hiryu, Greater Dragons etc) and then switch back when I am done.
Without looking, for those that do not know,. the Exceptional instruments give a 10% Bonus vs any target.

Second that. Well... lost only one and it was about 3 weeks before they ramped up ToT3 - how good was the timing on that?I can confirm that the flute goes poof when they hit 0 charges.

The flute of renewal automatically recharges slowly as long as it's in the game world/subserver.
Meaning if you log out for 8 hours with it in your bank or backpack, it won't recharge during that 8 hours.
However, if you leave it in your house and logout for 8 hours, it will likely be fully charged when you re-login.

I knew a guy that thought that unattended macroing was OK.
He set a Bard macro with a Flute of Renewal, and left his computer.
Once.
LOL.
