Shadowlords Issue

With the number of people hunting the SL it has been increasingly difficult getting his bar up to attack him. Lately I have been just using earthquake and my pet on guard to get him to attack. Is there an easier way to get his bar out of the mess of everyone attacking him?

I almost saw my first shadowlord today. Unfortunately, I drifted off from the pack for a moment to kill a deathwatch beetle and by the time I got back, he'd spawned, was slain and the landscape was awash with freshly opened gateways.

Don't use earthquake - use chain lightning or meteor swarm, and target anyone near it.

On normal shards, those two spells do NOT hurt fellow PCs or pets (even you or your own pet). They only damage monsters and red/blue NPCs.

As they are much narrower in range than Earthquake, it's less likely you'll get an errant target.

once the pet's attacking, hold down CTRL-SHIFT (if in the 2D client), then start right-clicking blue and green bars, till you can see the SL's clear enough to drag it.

I actually got to use my blackrock tonight, and I never spam the spell - only to NOT get a cloak, because my dragon became fixated on the fire rabbit and refused to attack the SL until the rabbit died.

So, yes, you CAN be the one to get the blackrock hit, and STILL not get a cloak.

if you use SA or KR you can use target next enemy and scroll through any badies till you get the lord

I cast three ( sometimes four ) earthquake spells per ShadowLord and have gotten a minor every time.

Only once have I actually seen a ShadowLord, lol. I just cast near the mounds of dragons and people.

That'll teach you to attack an innocent beetle that was just minding its own business

The current round of SLs seem to go down even faster than the corrupted Moonglow versions...not to mention berserker daemons...From observation, they seem to be using the same stats, but alot more folks are participating in this event.

It wasn't innocent, it was carrying poison

In the SA Client with the new targeting system, i made the mouse wheel to target next enemy on mouse wheel down and target last enemy on mouse wheel up. When it cycles a life bar with the current target and its name displays and i am able to target the shadow lord everytime doing this.

I can only guess there are more people now because there aren't hundreds of uber-creatures around that can destroy you from 3 screens away!

A couple of days ago my son and I had the early morning SL on Atl all to ourselves. It was sort of funny to recall in and see him just standing there.

He's not really all that rough to Greaters.

This is the time to switch clients. Those times I have participated I have logged with SA where I use target next hostile, and then attack current target. I have no problem targeting, and getting looting rights doing this.

Everyone says to get tags to show up with ctrl+shift and right click till all the bars are gone except what you want but my strategy is to bump the "adjust how long speech remains on screen" to around 450 and just click the words...the Shadowlord stands out.

being a tamer with protection my spells just take too long to cast plus there are sometimes monsters on screen so my eq would hit them too and then no idea where my pets will go.

I get 2 or 3 "cloaks" per round not just the arties.

I am astonished that peeps still deal with these guys. With this event going on, there must be ten thousands of ToT's be around, 36 cloaks per day are given out and lots of mempos also. Maybe there are twice as much cloaks on any shard than active players as a whole...

I have more cloaks then I can ever use, its mempos that I want. I have only gotten mempos from fighting Shadow Lords. And of the 9 mempos I have gotten only one did I not get a cloak.
