Sampire: regular vs slayer weapons... input sought

With your standard run of the mill sampire template, is it worth using a slayer weapon at the expense of the other desired mods of Damage Increase(DI), Swing Speed Increase(SSI), Hit Stam Leech(HSL), Hit Mana Leech(HML), Hit Lower Attack(HLA), and Hit Lower Defense(HLD)?

I'm trying to go through my weapon and ensure I'm set to play with all manner of monsters(champs, etc)

Rat spawns are handled with Vermin slayer talisman.
Undead spawns are handled with conjurer's talisman.

AFAIK, there are no demon, elemental, or reptile slayers talismans.

Right now, my generic weapon of choice is
Radiant Scimitar
DI 40
HSL 38
HML 55
HLA 40
But I've also been tinkering with a leafblade of ease:
DI 40
HSL 46
HML 38

So, is it worth sacrificing any of the sampire weapon mods to gain slayer on a weapon? I've been searching for a week or two but have had little luck finding a fast demon slaying weapon and no luck finding one with more than one sampire mod on it.:cursing:

I did an experiment once involving a wind's edge and a scorpion slayer mace with a sampire.

I killed Miasma several times with each and found that the wind's edge beat the non-ssi scorpion slayer hands down in every way.

In other words, unless you get a faster slayer than your normal weapon, there's no reason to switch to a slayer, especially if your slayer doesn't have the standard SL and ML.

I use a scorpion slayer ornate axe that has 20 SSI and high ML on it. I can 3 hit the weaker Miasmas, and blow through the stronger ones with it. I also have a Demon slayer Twink with ML that I've used successfully against paragon Succubi, but haven't had a chance to try it out in Doom yet. I've got a little leeway in using weapons like that though, since I have 20 SSI on my suit.

My current miasma killer is a rune blade with scorpion slayer, 25% SSI, ML and LL. It took a lot of strong box quests to find that little gem.

I don't actually have a good demon slayer sword, but that's ok since I usually take my mage to Doom anyway, and never go alone. But I do have a good demon slayer cutlass on Europa (SSI/ML) that I'm bound to try out sooner or later (my Euro-Sampire is a work in progress). That one was loot off of a Serrado that someone else had left behind because they never loot anything worthwhile.

Thanks strange person who didn't want to take 5 seconds to loot!

So I would be better off having the 100% DI and then do enemy of one over doing a slayer weapon? Unless I happen to find that killer sampire slayer weapon.

If you're in a long fight, then the end result is you have 8-9 hits at less than max damage. In that case, you'll do very nearly as well without the slayer weapon.

If you're fighting something easier to kill (like normal demons or succubi for fame and honor building), then just a fast slayer weapon is probably more effective.

Thanks Farsight... that is exactly what I was looking for.

For the most part, at least in the case of the demon slayer, it would be against "weak" monsters.

As an example, I took my new sampire against a regular plain old demon with the twink mentioned above and it took me 4-5 hits(I think) If I could cut that in half, I'd be MUCH happier.

As long as you make it a practice to honor each one so you get full hp's, stam, and mana back, there's no reason a reasonably fast Demon slayer wouldn't do you just fine. There'd be a big difference in taking on a boss such as the DF, but for regular demons, succubi and the like, there's no reason not to take advantage of the additional damage from a decent Demon slayer wep.
