I am going to throw out there im a newbie tamer.. been playing for years and never attempted a tamer.. cause i never had the patience for it to get the skill up. Well i stuck it out for a while now and hit 95.0 today taming bulls and was bored so i had the wild idea of trying to tame a cu sidhes cause i always liked them..so i loooked it up and found out were the spawn.. went got the quest to get there.. threw on a jewely ring to get 110 taming w/already had 108.3 lore... and lored them all.. from just gut instinct i figured i was looking for good healing and good physical resist.. am i wrong??? so i looked at them all and there was one way in the back of the sand area that had 98.7 healing which was way more then all the rest.. but physical resist was average among them all.. so i lured him out targeting him and hiding.. then got him out of the sand and first attempt to tame.. POW!!! "it seems to accept you as a master" on the first attempt.. i was so confused at first start to run cause i was use to running from you have angered them message... so here is a pic of my first cu sidhes... let me know what you think and how well this rates on a decent one.. i am trying to learn.. also if you can point me in areas i needed to look for in the lore to know if it was worth taming or looking for higher numbers at...

Well done, I too avoided taming for years but it can be great fun.

First and foremost, Grats on the Tame.

Reminded me a Greater I tamed that was my best GD for nearly 6 months. If memory serves me it was HP(Post Tame 922), Int(615), STR(650), PhysR(85), Fire(87), Cold(45), Poison(52), Energy(85), Wrestling (Post tame 127.4), Tactics (Post Tame 121.0), Resist(117.8), Magery(123.2).

I recall in to the Room outside the Water Elementals in Trammel Destard.

I ran out and there was a Greater Dragon just past the Ridge there, I did a Lore and moved away to look at it.

Did a big Gulp (as it was a big improvement for me at the time), went in and did a Peace, It took, ran on over and dismounted and hit the Tame, it took, Stepped back 2 steps and hit Invis. The tame was successful. That Greater Dragon never even twitched .....

Any who, In my opinion, Healing is not a critical skill as all Cu's will train (normal) to 90 and to 100 (Using Deadly Poison or Disco'd).

Your Cu is fine and is only short in the HP's but not all that much. I consider anything greater than 550 (Post Tame) to be good enough. For me, it is really HP's and Resists.

If you have not seen it, Dex/Stamina will train to 125. All the Combat Skills will Train to 100.

I really enjoyed your story. I also was successful on my very first attempt at taming a Cu (and was equally surprised). I had 115 Lore (real) and 110 taming (~97 real).

However, since then, every attempt has ended in disaster as often right as I start taming my connection lags for a second or two and next thing I am dead or the Cu is angered. I have since added Music/Disco to my template to try and disco the pup pre-taming for softer hits, if he connects.

Good luck and well done on your taming. I have had one for years (though I am an off/on UO player), and now just lazily rely on GGS for taming gains.

Congrats!

Just a few weeks ago I gmmed lore on my very first tamer. I was so excited I had to post it here.

The first cu is a major milestone as well, you must be beaming!

By the way, what are you training on right now? If I can make a recommendation, the ridgebacks in ilsh are awesome for gains at your skill level. I got from 99 to 100 in like no time=)
