Any insight on this ?

Half of Luna is missing on the Great Lakes Shard.
GMs cannot answer as to why.

All plants and all containers, ect. ect. are missing from all the plots inside the city of Luna, surrounding areas and other locations away from Luna.

thats a very good possibility, however it appears to be more than just one or two houses. i dont normally play great lakes, so i dunno.

Strange things that happen late at night and involves stuff missing... is usually hacking.

This has happened to multiple houses, multiple accounts, etc. So unless the server itself was hacked, then no, its not hacking. Sometimes a little reading comprehension before opening the virtual mouth in a post can go a long way.

More troublesome and disturbing is the complete lack of response. Nothing from EA, the Devs, nobody.

And for all the people doing the 'Who cares, its only Luna', 'You must have been hacked', etc., this is a SYSTEM GLITCH that affected a large portion of a zone. Whats to keep it from happening to YOUR house? YOUR items/account? How completely unsympathetic will YOU be then?

I expect the children on the boards to show up and go 'HaHa' and what not, as annoying as it is. But to have no word from the Devs on this issue is a sad state of affairs. Not even an acknowledgement of the issue.

Furthermore, there is not enough information provided in the earlier post that would let people who don't play Great Lakes know whether or not this involves multiple accounts. It is not uncommon to have one person own dozens of Luna properties, so it could easily have been one person getting hacked.

Unless business models have drastically changed (for the worst), when you have a 24/7 operation you have 24/7 support.

I've received more than one call in the middle of the night for problems with my department. Its what I'm paid for. Its what I pay my techs to do. Just because I'm sleeping doesnt mean I can let issues on my servers wait.

Do I expect an immediate fix? Nope, its unrealistic. And sometimes a quick fix is worse than the original problem.

Whats worrisome is that theres not anyone saying anything about it. Nothing so much as a 'Yes we know about the issue.' or anything.

You are referring to customer service. Developers are not customer service and unless they just happen to be browsing the forums at night, they are not going to know about this. This is not something they are going to be called up for in middle of the night. They are game designers, not tech support.

Something to consider, before you start attacking people's reading comprehension.

You're point is noted and correct.

I play GL, so I know the houses and who owns them; so I did jump the gun on that one. Zodia and NyteDoombringer posts irked me this early in the morning on the East Coast.

And while I understand the Dev's are not the CS department I'm also refering to a post from anyone from the EA staff.

While I dont know EA's departmental structure for a systematic problem my dev's are the first one I'd call for what appears to be a programming / data problem. My staff calls me, I assess the problem, communicate the issue and effects to the operations staff, and call in my support staff; hardware, software, network developers.

Just had a friend message me saying even after server up, still no change. Everything in Luna is still gone; so a server reboot didnt 'find' everything that was missing.

This is unacceptable and you have back ups. There are ways to fix this.

I have 2 houses in Luna and EVERYTHING IS GONE STILL! The only thing that remains are the structures themselves and any items that was placed with a deed. This includes chests which as you know hold most of what we own, collect, need to play, ect.

Everything is still in my bank boxes but that is it!

EVERY SINGLE house in Luna, surrounding areas and some areas beyond have the same issue.

scarry , sounds like you may have been hacked more then a glitch? did you check all your chars ? gold in the bank?

are you a high profile player that has many rares?

i am not sure if there is any way to know if someone else logged into your account less he changed the info/password

I have two homes in Luna and this is most distressing. All lock downed items and chests are gone! Like most players the things we need, collect and store are in chests as bank boxes cannot hold enough.

I have been playing UO for over 8 years, been a Stratics reporter for 7 years and have never seen anything like this. The hit is huge as all of my AoS clothes, not to mention AoS clothes and roses with names of friends and players long gone have disappeared. This is just a tip of the iceberg.

PART OF UO HISTORY HAS DISAPPEARED!

We need a fix on this and fast.

Its not a hack!!!!!!!!!! myhouse is outside the walls and the part of the house thatis nearest luna has allthe stuff missing the other half has all the stuff in it so its a server problem

Maybe this is the wake up call you all needed to realise that luna is EVIL!!!

Return to the suburbs...take up land in Moonglow, Brit, Skara and Minoc!!!

Return to the lands we all where raised on!!!

Lets stop being lazy and relying on these "other sites" , get back to the good old days of gateing and dropping runes to advertise shops. Word of mouth and a regular clientel.

If you can't laugh at adversity you'll end up a tired, wasted, bald, overweight version of your true selves. At worst they'll revert the shard to the last good save, so there's not that much to worry about. They're in the office now so just keep calm and stay away from any sharp instruments until they've done their thing.

Here's something that should scare everyone.

Whats to stop this problem (whatever it is, no idea, as no one has even acknowledged theres a problem) from happening to other areas?

Yew gate? The outskirts of Britian? 10 screen radius in the Britian swamps?

Maybe the issue is centered on Luna; we dont know as we dont even know that its being looked at.

I've talked to several people, and they've heard zip from GM's (who admittedly can only report the issue), from bug reports, from nothing.

I do know the approx time this happened also. It was 9:53 pm Pacific Time when the last of the three ShadowLords was killed in the desert.

There used to be some big time server rares in those houses. This would be a huge loss to anyone who cares about UO's beginnings and history. And that's an understatement.

I don't know what was shown at that museum (I just came back), but the idea of a museum with UO's history is important for the game. The old MOM (Museum of Memories) was fantastic, but it too shut down because of items being lost. Whatever happened here, there should be a revert and the problem needs fixed.

In the Orc Chief Rares Museum are still items left that are not placed with a deed. Rubble mainly and some rares.

After investigating I can guarantee that this was NOT a hack attempt or an account security issue.
