How do you all Pay UO?

I am from Germany, I live in a Town with 750.000 Peoples and not 1 Store sells here UO Gametime Cards. There are 3 Options right now :

1. uogamecodes.com
This Site accepts only Credit Cards, which I don't have. Or PayByCash which I don't use. I don't like to give EA my Bank Infos (Bank Transfer) and if I use Paysafecard then I have to buy a 50 Euro Paysafecard just to pay 42,59$ / 29,9791 Euros. Since I don't need the Paysafecard for other Stuff, it will be just wasted Money.

2. Ebay
Well, the chance to get ripped off is here 70%

3. Some German Online Stores that sells GTC's.
You have to wait and wait and wait till they send you your GTC and they want your Bank Infos too.

So how do I get now a GTC? I just came 3 Weeks ago back to UO after 2 Years and before I left UO there had been always Brokers who sold 90 Day GTC's for UO Gold.

Well finaly there is even one more option.... Leave UO and back to WoW since I can buy in atleast 15 Stores here WoW GTC's. No wonder that UO has so less Players when you can't even buy a stinky GTC in a Shop, in a 750.000 Peoples Town.

Arien you are absolutely correct! The customer service for Ultima Online is **** poor. Whoever is in charge of promoting UO and handling the business aspects that are involved with UO should be fired. The guy or gal is an effin' moron

It's beyong stupid that people are lining up with money clenched in their fists and they can't hand it over to play UO.

UOGametimeCodes is absolutely awful. And Markee Dragon and others who used to sell tokens and gametime codes someone ended up getting screw'd over and cut all ties with EA.

It's no wonder we can't get more players into the game.

If you use PayPal then GameTimeZone is a great place. I can personally vouch for them having purchased Gametime from them in the past. My most recent purchase-- last month-- was for a 90-day code. It worked, I got a call after placing my order within literally 30 seconds, and the code was emailed to me in under five minutes. I don't work for them, just respecting their true business practice.

I've paid EA for up to 14 Ultima Online accounts for over seven years now, using my debit card for my bank account.

Not once, not one single time has EA screwed it up. I've never been over-charged or double-billed. I have never received any letter from EA stating that my bank account information may have been compromised, athough I've had several such letters from businesses like restaurants and department stores.

Anywhere you use your bank account's debit or credit cards, they could screw up and leave your bank account information unsecured. It's the life we live in the 21st century. There's always a risk.

a pre-paid cash card is a good way to go, choose one that's 'mastercard' not 'maestro'.
There's a small fee for using them, but for internet security I think they're great. You use them exactly like a credit/debit card when it comes to putting the information in the account management page, but you 'load' them with cash. There's no tie to your bank account and you can only spend what you've loaded on to them.
There's no point in my trying to link you to a particular one as each country will have different ones, but google should find them if you just search for 'pre paid cash card'

I use a visa debit card - it isn't a credit card "as such", but a visa card that works only with the money I have in my bank account.

If you use paypal at all, I believe there's an option with that now to use it as a credit card transaction? I remember reading about it, but can't remember the details.

EA should think about this here a little bit. Cause if there's no chance to buy a simple GTC in Stores, or even the last (UOKR) and the next (SA) Expansion on an DvD / CD, there won't be a chance to get new Players to UO. I'm an oldstyle Player, I like to buy my Game in a nice Box with Handbook ect. and I am not willing to Download 2 Gigabite and pay for that Horror Download even Cash just to get 1 Register Code for SA, per Mail.

Well, leaving UO is certainly your choice. I find that a dedicated pre-paid credit card or cash card is safe and saves the cost of gas, and cheaper than using PayPal... and no PayPal scams!

But another way of thinking about it from a retailers' point of view, how could they possibly make a profit even on the 100 most popular online games carrying all of the Time Cards? I own a retail store, and I would not ever try to carry more then the top 10 of anything if I expect to make a profit.

WoW is a Joke but hey it is atleast a Joke with GTC's in all Stores and with a nice Box with DvD, Handbook + some extras & finaly even commercials in TV.

Now I use my CC thru acc management.I will say though that I used to use PayByCash before I got with the times and at least got my visa check/debit card. Paybycash was a great service.Aside from the time it took for snail mail to get there it worked great and for the record,you do not have to give paybycash you bank info.You mail a check or (like I used to) a money order and wait for them to recieve,than your code is emailed to you. If you plan ahead and order a new game time code BEFORE you run out,your problem is solved.

I live in a country of 10 million inhabitants (in Europe) where UO was never marketed, all the expansion boxes and the original T2A box were ordered from overseas.

I think the reason why people from Europe ask for GTC is because they have to pay their monthly fee in Euros.

Last time i tried to make a subsription with my Credit Card - which is about 3 months ago - EA tried to charge me 13.99 Euros. If you are able to pay in US $ its only 12.99 US $ per month (but the option to let your CC be charged by US $ is only available if you live outside the Euro zone).

Considered that the currency exchange rate is roughly 1.40 right now i would have to pay 19.59 US $ a month when i use my credit card.

I really can't understand why people from Europe have to pay 50% more. Thats outrageous.

2.in Germany we don´t need gtc in shops,we order such things over the internet
3.Germany is one of the biggest market in the media industry
4.if we Germans look back, i would say WE won the war
(lost some territories in the east part,but don´t hurt much)

I like Petra's idea, maybe you could get something similar? Atm, I use one of those visa gift cards you can get at stores like wegman's. The one I'm using only has a set amount of money on it though, it's a non-reloadable kind. But if you're worried about getting ripped off, that would be more secure..only so much could get taken from you if you lose the card. That being said, I haven't had a problem with EA trying to overcharge this card either.
