[UO Herald] Enhanced Client Desktop Screenshot Contest

Guess what?!?! We want you to take a screenshot of your desktop in the Enhanced client. The winner will get a 30 days of gametime added to their account. We are looking for cool looking monsters and/or creative ways to use the new client UI.


The rules are simple:

1. Submissions to be sent to [email protected] (hosted screenshots will not be accepted)
2. Include Name (character or real name), Shard you play on, and account you would like the 30 days added
3. Submissions must be in .jpg, .gif, or .bmp with a minimal desktop resolution of 1024x768 (all other formats will not be accepted)
4. Enter as many times as you like
5. We will narrow down the submissions to 5 unique finalists
6. The 5 finalists will be voted on by the players
7. To ensure fairness to all players the finalist character names will be blacked out

Submissions will be accepted from July 24th to July 31st 2:00PM EST. At that point we will then elect the 5 finalists. Once the finalists are selected their screenshots will be posted on the Herald to be voted on. The vote will last 7 days and after 7 days we will announce the winner. The winner will be notified prior to the announcement.

I didn't think it was an overly complicated request nor does it need any clarification.

Sounds to me like they want to see how people are setting up their screens in SA while doing PvM (macro set up, pack open showing items, party bars, etc). I think it's just their way of seeing if old 2D players are adapting to the new client and how the old 3d players and people that used KR have adapted as well. Creative ways to use the new UI...could be new deco you've done, setting up different items in new ways, etc.

They built the new client so people will not need to use AutoMap & Assist. This is their way of seeing how we overcome, adapt and improvise.

Warning... It saves the pics as .bmp at around 4-5MB! So they are quite large. I open them in my picture software and save as a .jpg, which is about 300-400KB. Which is ten times smaller or so! Then I delete the original.

Wouldn't wanna eat up all that hard drive space.

Am I the only 2D player who has the SA desktop setup EXACTLY like in 2D, the same way it's been for 11 years. As close as the ridiculously oversized paperdoll and interface windows and microscopic radar map will allow anyway.

ouch, would be nice if they could change this, I take 100-400 pics every event I attend. Unless this is changed I think I will be sticking with 2D, which is a shame as the new SA seems to run real smooth.

you don't have to use the SA screenshots. I have a different one installed and use that. It uses the same 'print screen' button but I choose the format and location of the shots. It over-rides the SA setting.
