cloacks are fine, but they cover my multi million gold worth hair :(
would be nice if we could turn hood off ;)

(sad the event last so long, whom should we sell the cloacks if only sellers run around everywhere )

It's not possible to turn off the hood, it's all one item. They would have to make a cloak without the hood, which is basically a robe. Technically, you want the cloaks item properties on a robe? You might have a better chance asking for a robe with the same item properties. That won't involve modifying a graphic.

I doubt that'll happen, nor do I see much need for it. You have a choice to wear the cloak or not. I have to make the choice to wear clothes or cover them up by armor just for the item properties. I choose to cover them up for the item properties. The choice to wear your cloak or show your hair is yours.

Or make it so a tailor can change it into something else. I would love to change mine into a dress so my character don't look so much like a guy.

um ... *points at all the UHall posts where 'archers' stated their displeasure about losing the quiver slot because the 'Cloak of' items were actually cloaks*

The poster complained about not wanting his cloak to cover his hair. Cloaks that take up the 'cloak' slot don't cover heads. So I did assume that they were talking about the 'Cloak of' items which are basically hooded robes. I would consider hooded robes without hoods to be robes. I do apologize for the confusion when I called the 'Cloak of' items 'cloak'.

Guild items? Was the OP talking about the 'Cloak of' items (Life, Death, Power)? If not then my posts were way off base. I don't understand how someone would not have access to guild items.

I'm not a big fan of the Elven Robes either. I was just stating that turning the hood off would be impossible. There would either need to be another item graphic created without a hood, or use the current robe graphic.

I'm of the opinion that it was a mistake to keep calling it a cloak when it was moved out of the cloak slot.

Of course, I also think it was a mistake to move it out of that slot in the first place (have quivers become so sacred that nothing can ever be put in the same slot again?).

Then again, putting quivers in the cloak slot probably wasn't a great plan ...

( it's all sort of a chain reaction that leads to trouble :) )

how about the ability to put the hood over your head and off your head by double clicking the cloak or shroud or robe while your wearing it from the paper doll?

I pretty much agree with you. I'm just not sure how a quiver would work/look/display in conjunction with a cloak.

oooooh... That makes much more sense now!

Yeah, i've been sacrificing fashion for item properties for a while now. I would like a couple of my mages to be able to wear cloth items as opposed to armor. I also wish that my warriors could wear more cohesive suits, meaning all armor pieces of the same or similar make. Currently, I sacrifice my desire to look organized for decent mods.

That sounds like an interesting addition. Right now it seems like 2 separate item graphics would need to be merged togather into one item. Not only on the paperdoll, but every avatar animation pose in every direction. That seems more trouble than it might be worth. Though, I don't really know everything that modification would require.

I've often said the "hood" should be able to be pulled up or down... as any normal hood would.

I'm not sure how well it would actually look in UO's graphics layers, but after watching Lord of the Rings a few times, the general idea of an elf with a quiver and a cloak seemed a lot more natural to me :)

what i would like to see is that we (legendary tailor) could transfer the properties from one
shroud/cloak /robe to what ever we wont to wear.
perhaps it should REPLACE and not AD the properties.

dev´s you throw items over item in the game, but you should sometimes think about that some kinds of items not KILL other items ! ;)

I've thought about an option that would not move item properties over to a new item, but change the base item to another item that takes up the exact same item location. Like changing a pair of chainmail leggings to be ringmail leggings. They both take the exact same item location, but would allow the user to equip themselves in one cohesive suit of armor. I'm just not sure how likely that would be to happen.

Im pretty sure that clicking robe to pull on/off hood would be easy enough to achive if hey went for it. Its not that a big deal programming it, might needed an extra graphic to make it look decent when pulled though.

Am an elf-main character and it does look like garbage hehe. So I just get a set of all the new robes one each only and keep them in my containers for posterity.

To the people hoarding them like maniacs do carry on hehe (hope you get to sell some hehe)!

Who knows what they would be worth in 20 years eh? :D:D:D

Just to add maybe they can come out with shorter ones above the knee like windbreakers too eh? :D

The elf cloaks wouldn't look so bad if, like all of the UO original items, and completely unlike everything since UO:SE, the items were based on GRAYSCALE representations.

The reason the cloak looks so bad when dyed is because it is not a grayscale original.

Now, why someone hasn't simply gone through all of the original artwork for SE and ML and used a limited palette that the UO client recognizes, and then done a grayscale conversion and patched them back into the game is far beyond me. They'd look SOOOO much better if they were not colored over a colored item. That and every other wearable since UO:SE.

Le sigh.

I actually like that the cloaks have hoods, and am grateful for it. Mark of travesty doesn't look to great on my char and with the cloak I get to wear it and not look like Hanibal Lector.

An option to double click the cloak to raise and lower the hood would be fine, but I'd hate to see the hood removed all together.

Ok... Horrible idea. Absolutely horrible idea. Why? You're transferring stats onto any clothing you want with that idea. People would just horde them MORE and transfer the mods to anything they could wear. Shirts that you wear underneath, boots, sashes, skirts, formal shirts, and then you'd put it on cloaks too, then a robe because no one will need the quiver of infinity anymore. Just from using the cloak of death that's +21Hci, 21Dci, and 21SDI cloak of like would give you 21hp and 7hpr, and the cloak of power, abused like that, would be 14str 14dex 14 int But let's keep it! I want an easy suit with45hci/45dci. Oh! i could easily make a suit with 150str 150 dex and 60int! Oh! Let's make faction versions that give higher% like 8%hci/dci/sdi 8hpi and 3hpr and 5 of each stat on their versions of the respective robe that you could transfer to other items via the same method but they'd retain their faction tags! (To anyone who hasn't realized, this is sarcasm).
