How long does it take for a pet to go wild after releasing it? As in, how long does it take before it starts attacking other people?

Depending on the type of pet, it should be almost instant.

It's been about an hour now, and the pets will still not attack any players :\.

what pets?

Pets cease to obey orders from the moment you release them, non aggressive creatures like horses and polar bears frequently continue to attack aggressive creatures for some time, but aggressive creatures usually revert to their normal behaviour quite quickly.

Yeah we are in fel and setting up a greater drag scene. However, the ones we released won't attack anyone. They are gray to us. They say wild when lored. They just won't attack anyone unless they are attacked. I don't know whats up. Maybe the devs changed something.

Its been awhile now. At least for GDs that I know will not attack any player after releasing them. They will not flag and will not move. You can literally retame it without it doing anything or even taking a step. But when you tried to attack them they will retailiate. And if you use another tamer to tame it it will start chewing on you.

Sounds like a bonus for tamers to me.

We saw one go wild twice on atl in waste hut & not attack anyone so I've seen what you're saying.

They did change something and in my opinion messed it up...

Released pets will not ever be aggressive to players anywhere anytime unless attacked.

I know it stinks... but that's the way it is.

I suppose someone cried about getting attacked by something at some point that someone set loose...

The only way to get aggressive ones is to well.... use herding and herd them where you want them...

This of course won't work for 99.9% of things you'd like to have because you can't herd anything through a gate nor onto a boat. So sorry but your fun has ended.

from what i understand if u bring a pet into an area and simply release the pet it will not aggro on anyone unless attacked. i suspect that this is done to prevent greifing in trammel.

however from what i understood though have never tried it say you have a pet, bring it into an area and spam commands on it, to the point it goes wild than it will attack whats around it.

so if say your 120 tame with jewels and less than gm wiot you could remove the jewels and spam commands at which point the pet should go wild faster.

but like i said this was just told to me, i have never tried it.

let us know if it works that way.

So no more releasing a dragon at Brit bank in an attempt to be a pain, but seeing it guard whacked....

I can vouch for the fact released 'grayed' pets still attack by the 3 corpses I left on the ground last night in Luna. A released dragon was attacking every player in sight.

It sucked being killed but damn it was funny watching the bank-sitters dropping like flies...guess all that L3Wt gear meant nothing huh?

I had someone release a greater dragon next to my vendor house (right outside destard), it didn't attack me while I was stocking vendors. Once I finished I decided to tame it and move it so as not to scare customers who come by. When I logged in with my tamer, I walked right up to it and tried taming. Failed my first attempt and it ate me. After I rezed I got my GD and came back and killed it for revenge.

I had the same issue with a GD the other day, my Warlord had tamed it and released it. When I realized it was a 3.9 on the PPC, and mine was a 3.3, I ran over to tame it and it was just standing there... like it was trying to figure out why it's owner had left it :(
