pub 59 tweak please!

As stated in the pub 59 fix report:
Players can no longer log out without repercussions in Champ Spawn regions
Players that log out in a champ spawn region will get teleported to a shrine
If a player logs out in a champ spawn area all the non equipped “cursed” items on them will drop to the ground
This will only affect players who log out beyond the 10 minute grace period; accidental disconnections will not be punished.


I think a tiny longer cushion could avoid future misuse from this system while not hinding gameplay. Say a 1 whole min cushion from log out time to log in time would not only ensure a tamer who logged out to save their pet wouldn't be punished but also hinder the abuse of pvpers who log out and back in for their own safety as well as the lazy head using it to teleport into a recall zone to get more supplies. I'm all for killing the possibility of ghost cams but the instant timer as is just screams for abuse.

I will test this later to see if this works while under crim acts but i am inclined to believe it will.

The "grace period" currently, as I came to understand it from all the posting that was going on with it, should be 10 mins. If this is not the case then the system is broken and needs to be re-looked at.

I crashed my client the other day, logged back in and the SoT I had gotten was on the ground by my feet.

I had problems dieing and being transported. In deceit I died in a room I tried to walk to the very next room so a guildie could res me and half way there I get teleported to a shrine. I let the shrine res me then I recalled back ran down and looted by body.

I m all for fixes but this fix is broke. The timers are not working properly.

I just tested this with a red char. After trying away from the alter unsuccessfully i moved in within 5 tiles and tried. No tele. I waited my "10min grace period" and had a friend come in. I flagged crim and immediately logged out/in. Guess what? Tele straight to chaos both times. The first time wearing only a deathrobe and the 2nd time wearing clothing.

This is the problem with your entire suggestion. Tamers have access to Vet for a reason. If you don't run with Vet, then be prepared for your pet to die, and not use a crutch to keep it from being removed from the PvP picture.

I think if you log out to "save your pet" it should go to the stables and stay there until you manually go to a stable and claim it.

Only if the system can tell the difference between a crash and logging out. If I crash, or otherwise get disconnected, I don't want my pet to go to the stables if it is guarding me.

Disagree. They better at least fix pathfinding and follow speed on a pet first before even thinking about nerfs.

They need to fix the F*****G Bug with this!!!

On a char with spell weaving and gift of life up...Why in he name of all that is holy would i get teleported out of the dunegon/spawn area before the spell has even had time to kick in???

Oh, on a diff char, died took a res from a guildy standing next to me, without moving a step from my corpse and was booted from the area!

THIS "FIX" IS BROKEN AND NEEDS TO BE FIXED!!!

I was all for this patch, i thought it would be a great way to stop abuse. IF IT WORKED!!!

The 10 minute grace period is total BS doesn't work as intended. It has happened to me three times so far with the last one just happening last night. I was in despise and was killed on the island by the water by about 6 rat mages. It was the first time I died and within 15 seconds of my death 2 necro guildmates had came and killed the spawn and offered me a rez. The second the gump came up, I was teleported to the Choas shrine. I never logged out, I only moved 1 tile to get off my body, that was the first death I had, and I was only dead for about a total of 20 seconds. I was on a red char. The other 2 times were similar but I had died doing the spawn once before, so I just figured it was a coding glitch and was probably counting the first body which had already decayed. It just might have been my bad luck and was offered the rez just as the "random exorcism" booted me from the champ spawn, but really, you would think that they would have a check in the coding to see if there was a corpse in the area.

Agreed, it is quite possible that all of us have just been hit by this random exorcism...i highly doubt it myself though.

Besides why fix such a prominent problem when people could throw pies at unarmed assailants!?!?

If they can't fix the problem, then at least make it so that you get teleported to random shrines and are able to be rezzed there. Now you have guilds that just camp Chaos shrines on their stealth archers just waiting for people to be teleported there for easy rez kills.

Neither of which have anything to do with logging out to save a pet from being killed by other players, or even a monster for that matter.

Not only that but this has NOTHING to do with a nerf!!!

This was about an implemented "fix" to stop abuse of the log-out system and ghost/stealth camming.

Typically it is flawed and badly implemented. For the record, this is my first "rant" at the new dev team. So far i have been quite impressed with the ideas and improvements. This one sounded too good to be true, i actually could see it ending ghost/stealth camming, alas i was right...it has been horribly implemented and is now just a joke!

Well spoken Rich. This is something that needs to be looked at or explained further asap not complaining about templates or playstyles.

For clarification the 10min grace period SEEMS to be a period that starts when you enter unknown tile radius of the alter(if there is an actual tile radius not just a broken code). For most spawns it takes an average of 11min+ to get to a high enough lvl to risk death to yourself and being randomly booted out. Obviously the time would be less considering how many people your group has.

It is also unknown at this time wether that counter resets if you leave the area or simply log out. It only takes 5min for a char to dry log in an non-safe logout area. If indeed the counter resets it will still be possible that cams will still work thus only ruining honest spawners and enticing misuse of this new logout/tele system to avoid death even under criminal acts (possible stat loss since so many people play factions now).

For example Faction Guild A has 8 people doing despise. Faction Guild B raids with 15 people. Guild A knows they simply cannot win nor survive. Guild A chooses to simply choke the bridge up and log out and in to avoid stat. This is now possible even under criminal acts from throwing fields.

I'm glad you brought this up because the same thing happens to me! I hit My Gift of Life to rez, I rez, and a second later I'm teleported to a shrine. This happened 3 times at the Sleeping Dragon champ, Serado.
It's bugged.

Has anyone noticed if the latest client patch fixed this problem with the Gift of Life rez teleporting you to a shrine?

Thank you , i apologise for ranting but i was dissapointed with the implementation of what seemed like such a great idea.

I havent checked the latest patch, im at work presently but im sure it willl get some testing later!

Ok, so unplug your ethernet cord or disconnect your wireless without pressing the logout button. You will bet "disconnected", your pet will be safe and you have to wait 20-60 seconds for your network to come back up and log back in.

yes. It also did it with sacrifice rez too. its fixxed but broken at the same time too.
