i have a 20mb internet and 2gb graphic card,quad core blah blah i know it damn well is not me

surely with the money YOU have you can handle 40 peeps on screen at once, i mean we are in a modern age FFS

I don't deny that at all. However I'm the one leaving UO you're the schmo still paying EA for the abuse, I hope that perhaps you too will become enlightened and cut off EA too. You will feel better, trust me.

Funny, I don't feel abused by EA. I actually still enjoy playing the game like much of the still existent player-base. Then again I don't go blaming them for every little thing that upsets me. Nor do I go blaming them for my mistakes

But to the OP. I understand the lag issue. It is always to be expected when you have that many people on one screen. In fact I think it's to be expected in any online game. Luckily I don't lag too bad. I suggest waiting until less players are working it or just work through the lag.

I would have had to wait 14 DAYS to put a house back on the account, pay for a fifth account and also tolerate that my main character on that account can't be partied 75% of the time it says he is in a party WHEN HE'S NOT IN A PARTY!

The account is bugged.

Its now my fault, and its seems to be NO ONE'S job to help the player. In game support says they are NOT ALLOWED TO HELP ME. Telephone support says I need to page a GM...the same GM that is NOT ALLOWED TO HELP ME.

So yeah sure its all my fault.

But what you don't understand is that there are massive amounts of packets being sent to and from your computer all at one time and no matter how fast YOUR connection may be it will still bottleneck at some point on it's path to you so you will still lag at some point no matter what.

EA has fast servers. You have a fast connection and computer on your end too. But at some point between you and the server your going to hit a bottleneck or slowdown. That is just how it is and will be.

Until we all have a fiber-optic connection directly to the backbone of the internet expect some lag at some point.

ty for advice, funny thing is, i got 2 mempos today from consecutive SL, but it still does not deny the fact the lag is poor with modern day electronics

UO is a sprite based game, no matter what client you are using it will always be rendered through the CPU. It is also a single threaded game meaning that only one core is used for the client.

What is happening is that at these events with all the packets coming in is that your system gets bottle necked. A good way to help this situation at events on any PC is to adjust the update range in Options on the client.

Take responsibility for your own actions and stop blaming someone else.

There is a vast database of information right here at your fingertips. When your search on uo.com failed, why didn`t you make a search here before you did something major as resizing? You made an error of judgement and didn`t make sure you had enough information before you acted - and then you blame EA/Mythic???

And you still keep on posting bile here and in other threads. If you want to leave : Then leave.

I think the point is, when you are uninformed about game features related to housing that are pretty wildly know, easily found on stratics (http://uo.stratics.com/php-bin/show_content.php?content=30872) a problem one simple look or preemptive post would have solved in spades, then you fly off the handle about it, and blaming the GM's cause they wont help you break the rules...well you just look pretty silly

That was from recent expirence. Perhap I should have made that clear, but I inadvertantly though everyone had read my locked thread.

FYI: My sister and I scoured www.uo.com, ea.custhelp and Stratics and found NOTHING concerning Resizing AFTER house placement. NOTHING. Also the account will not clear to allow her to take back her old house it still says SEVEN DAYS and it has already been SEVEN DAYS! So I guess I'm suppose STFU and just live with a account that CAN NOT HAVE A HOUSE anymore....Uhh I pay for this....not anymore.

We used the Stratics search feature and IT NEVER brought us to that Thread nor did we find it in our search. We also search www.uo.com and ea.custhelp.com too. NOTHING!

We did check homes and Castles but we didn't find the information.

Regarding the lag, I don't get it when the shadowlord spawns. But I get it a while later, when the SL is down to 70-80 % hp. Then the client freezes for like 5 secs as if you were getting dropped packets.

Not sure what's happening. Everyone else seems to be affected as well, not just my wife and I. The SL's hp isn't any less than before the freeze as well (5 secs is long enough for the rest of the players to do some very visible damage if they didn't also freeze)

Not sure if that's what the OP is referring to or if he's is experiencing lag due to just having lots of players on the screen even without the SL appearing.

Jirel, I might be a tad late, but if the plot is still available, quickly get any of the new account/buddy activation codes you still have (you get both a new account code plus an upgrade code when you purchase any of the expansion/anni boxes), and use that to place the plot.

It'll ask you for your CC info for verification, but it's free for the first 30 days. Just remove the CC info and cancel the account after your sis has successfully transferred the plot. Buddy codes has no trial account restrictions, so you can place a plot immediately and no charges for 30 days.

I remember someone had this issue before and posted on UHall a couple of months back and would have advised (as will several other people I'm sure) against re-sizing immediately after accepting a plot transfer.

and you can't resize a house after you got the house (technically you can resize the house, it will be demolished alright, but after it is demolished, you can't place it after 7 days)

I know that's little consolation to say that now, but it'll useful in future even if you decide to play other MMOs. (Asking on the boards I mean)

I was referring to the lag when you have a lot of people on screen. Which is the main topic of this thread as well as my post you cut that sentence out of

Clearly you can have as many people on screen as can fit, but the more you have the more likely you are to experience lag. Obviously it can depend on the system specs but regardless the more people the more lag you may get.

To be fair, when you siege castles in Lineage 2, the people are not all concentrated in 1 single spot where you have 300+ people saying things/casting spells all at the same time, all within range of each other.

Imagine if you were part of that 300 and had to sync the spellcasting animation/speech from 299 other people. And each of that 299 people in turn has to sync with 299 other people.

And the castle sieges lag like crazy as well.
