Wow, can you be any more unhelpful?

Zyron, mind posting your systems speccs? The client is currently in beta and therefore prone to have issues. Problems like this is exactly why we are testing it now. :)

I run a quad-core with 7GB of RAM and an Nvidia 8800 GT on Vista, and SA is very choppy for me for some reason. Is this just me or has anyone else noticed it?

Well, it is only in beta :p
But I have noticed. Looking forward to the final version.

In the user settings, under the Grapics tab, check the box to Enable VSync, and change the Frame Rate to 60... made a significant difference on my computer. It's not choppy at all now.

Windows 7 64Bit RC1.

I have a Core 2 Quad (Q6700 OC at 2.75/1066 FSB), 4GB 1066 FSB DDR2 memory, NVIDIA GForce 9600GT 768MB of DDR3 memory(PCI Express 2.0).

Windowed or Fullscreen (1680x1050x32Bit) and it runs smooth.

Performance wise I have no issues with this Client.

I am thinking it may be a bit more than just the vsync and frame rate. But it would help to change those settings for sure.

One more thing - if you are not running in full screen, then turn frames off. It improves performance greatly.

I have always been under the impression that if you run it in full screen turning the frames off would do...well nothing, so how does it improve performance? o.o

guess I will have to try this, already use it in full screen see no reason why not to give this a try.

If you're in FULL SCREEN, Remove Frames is useless.

If you're in Windowed Mode, it will help performance (Gamebryo has NEVER liked non-maximized windowed mode).

You didn't read my post after that one. :p I said I read her wrong, normally I would thank you for helping, but perhaps thank you for trying? o.o don't wanna sound rude...I am honestly thinking how I could thank you, I suppose trying is the best way to go. ^^ (again probably tired so...my online etiquette is a bit of a failure right now so sorry, for anything if there is anything o.o)

please note the lack of 'fuzziness' around the rocks and trees. Dragon obscured by the lovely flames he just breathed all over the wolf. This on a video card that's listed as *not* supported.

I was pleasantly surprised how responsive the SA client was for me. I never used KR and have been a dedicated 2D user until now. My computer is a Core 2 Quad Q6600 with 4 GB DDR2 and an GeForce 8600GT video card on Win XP Pro (32 bit). I was a little concerned I would need a newer high-speed video card, but the 8600GT is doing great. I reduced the particle effects to low and shut off shadows just to ensure my system doesn't bog down and affect my game play. So far so good. Of course I've only got one night of SA testing thus far. My initial impression is favorable. The hardest part was figuring how to get speech to go over folks heads like in 2D. I eventually figured it out.

For anyone looking to get a new laptop that has compatible video, I think this list should be ok. I think they are beyond the recommended ones mentioned by Chrissay above. With this vast number to choose from though its a confusing mess. If anyone notices any on this list that are below Chrissay's suggestion please speak up. Also if anyone knows a good way to locate laptops for sale with one of these between a specified price range please share.

Don't forget to turn off Shadows - that helps TREMENDOUSLY (and keeps your house from looking like crap, as your lower floor shows shadows from the chests on higher floors with shadows on, until you leave and re-enter the house)

How does a game/client that doesn't even look as good as Diablo II have system requirements that would disallow a guy whose PC runs WoW just fine?

Although the GeForce 6200 series is not supported, I can attest that it runs the client just fine.

As a followup to my earlier post, I spent alot of time today searching for a new laptop. My initial 2 criteria were that the GPU be on the list I posted above and the price be under $1000. I had planned to replace my laptop this fall after Windows 7 hits the shelves, but in this horrendous economy I've got to keep the cost down. So, I decided if I couldn't get one for under $1000 that met the recommended specs, I would just use 2d until they drop it. Anyway here are some I found in case some of you might be looking.
