If the shadowlord spawn on your shard dont look like this... BE THANKFUL. The spamming starts about 5-10 mins before the thing is even close to spawning.

Well, if everyone is spamming it, it becomes pretty much entirely random who gets the spell-cast credit. Nobody has an advantage.

With all that around, by the time you even get the chance to notice that it's spawned, it's dead anyway.
No reason I can think of to even try really... ESPECIALLY for a melee character.

A melee character, in particular a Sampire or any warrior with Necro, would find it pretty easy to obtain targeting as soon as the SL spawned by simply spamming Wither to obtain targeting when it spawns, then proceed to beat the hell out of it for the next 20 seconds. Viola!

Not everyone plays a sampire. Infact I don't have one even in all my 50+ characters.

I also think it would have helped a LOT if they would have left the three spots spawning at the same time. One of these days I will understand Draconi's sense of humor..he gives us a little (two hours spawns) and then adds an evil twist (10 minutes apart) just for a laugh. He is evil.... EVIL I say !!

What if he suggested Holy Light? you are going to say "only noob would have 105+ chiv?"
I dont see necros complaining about having to spend points to get necro ss (two(2) skills) high, nor do you see mages complaining about having to get magery and SS(two(2) skills), but dexers complains about chiv (1 skill only) all the time which is beyond me.
I really wish they would make chiv work like ALL other casting skills in game. Maybe you will see a lot less dexers complain since now their skill works just like everyone else. Good idea?

Can always do what I do on my shard...change your text to red and say a shadowlord (Manifestation) and wach em all go nuts over nuthing that was the funniest damn thing I ever saw lol

It is "slightly" confusing but it is fairly simple as well. What happens is the first time they spawn after server up they all spawn at the same time, assuming all 3 spots are camped at once you will have them spawn at (lets make up a number here) 5:10 am. Now they will each spawn 2 hours after they die, so lets say the first one dies at 5:12am (yea I know I am adding alot of time for most shards) and the other two both die at 5:14am, now you have one that will spawn at 7:12 and two that will spawn at 7:14, assuming the first one dies as fast as it did the first time it will die at 7:14 and everyone will move on to either of the other two spawns and it repeats. More than likely what you are experiencing is everyone on your shard sits at one in the morning, kills it, then moves on to the other and so forth. By the time you get to them, they are 10 mins apart.

Well some folks are just very good at getting the cloaks in such a fiasco. Too bad the cloaks are elven robes wonder how human players will respond to that?
Besides they look kinda cheap you know like the ones you get on a bazaar sale.
No offence but I saw a guy wearing one the gift of life cloak at luna and I couldn't tell if he was a gargoyle or what.
JMHO but I think people look like sissies on them. Thus even if they change the spawn spots or upgrade the SL it wouldn't matter anyhowz. Meantime I will stick to my Europa Golden Robe (Class), the Replica All Knowledgable robes are more presentable.
WE NEED BETTER COMMUNITY BASED EVENTS NOW!! SA just around the corner? Oh dear they even haven't fixed the bug to allow me to honor on KR?

I passed one all alone yesterday, I didn't stop to play with it, I was on a stealthy mission to mark some runes. It was in the middle of the Tokuno champ area.
the lag created by all the spamming, fields, and evs is quite annoying, even on a good connection. I love uo events but this latest one has really brought out the worst in people.
My human Archer (ABC template) has no problem obtaining and wearing the cloaks. He's currently wearing the Cloak of Power, and I feel that it accentuates his buttocks. Just saying...
While I agree that is a ridiculous amount of dragons, what do you expect? Should everyone not fight these things? At least all the attackers get a minor.

the main point you forget is:
the shard dominating "scripter-scum-gangs" are able to split his group to ALL spawn areas
BUT YOU cant spilt yourself in 3pcs.
the result would be that MORE cloacks would land in the same hands as now.

I have not once used the Armageddon spell, so I would say that is not your only chance to get the cloaks....And for the record, I get the cloak every time. And making the spawn dynamic does not really help the scripters, what are they going to do script running around tokuno spamming? For a script to work properly it has to have a defined out come, that means if the shadow lords spawn in random locations, the scripters will have no idea where they are and really scripting will not be a "benefit" but more of an "add on" since the player will have to be attended and spamming just running around like an idiot. lol, well you made my day better.
In a couple posts up someone said something about SA being right around the corner and it made me think. What if SA really brought people back to Uo or got new people to play (doubt it). Then they hear about these events and come to something like we have here. If they aren't hooked on Uo like most of us im sure it would turn them off to the game. As for the rest of us we just complain and keep playing cause were hooked and no ones made Uo Rehab yet.

I think they got it just about right in glow. you could use armageddon over and over if you wished, the point im making is that if they did it like that this time then people would run outta br if they continually spammed when it spawned or at least one time each. and in glow they were tough, these are over in under a minute!

BTW, SPAMMING ARMAGEDDON DOES NOT WORK.
Usually it's someone 2-5 seconds AFTER the creature spawns that gets the boom - I've tested it (and got the cloaks to show for it).
You know, maybe if you all would move out to the suburbs (shard-wise), instead of cramming yourself into the overpopulated slums that are Atlantic and its neighbors, you wouldn't have this issue.
The one time we had a crowd that bad on Lake Austin, it was Inu's house Saturday morning, and it caused the subserver to freeze for 5 minutes when the SL spawned. Instead of waiting for the game to either start moving, or crash everyone there (which is what occurred), I restarted UO (was in SA client, switched to 2D), got back before it unfroze (and still had to wait a minute for movement to begin), and ended up getting one of the 3 robes, since I was the only "attacker" not autodefending from being disconnected from the game.
In fact, Friday night, I even Soloed a couple of SL (with the 3rd shared with one person), though the crowds never got that small again.

Thats a good idea... With the release of SA they should just say "If your new to Uo and want to enjoy the events pick a dead shard but if you want a large group of people to try to find friends pick a populated shard, Were sorry you cant have both."
