My BF and I had a Fel Keep that had 4 nice sized dirt patches around it that was keeping us from placing a Castle. After weeks of begging and pleading (LOL) for a GM to remove them, GM Yariac removed them for me today. We got our Castle! :) Thank you GM Yariac.

It's great that they got removed, but really sad that it took weeks of paging. Dirt patches are one of the few things (like static paintings and little puke yellow stew discs, 255 stone statues, etc) that GMs will remove from the landscape. You should have gotten a GM on the first try who would do that for you.

Umm... Did I miss something? GM's are allowed to alter the landscape so people can place housing ???

*psssT!!!*

"Mr. GM.... These trees were not here last year. They have simply grown up in the field where I intended to build my new home. Could you perhaps remove them for me ??"

That's good to hear, my husband and I have been working with GM Thowe to save his house from decay and couldn't be happier with the resolution to our problem. Its great to see the GM's getting props for doing great work!

Dirt patches weren't initially part of the landscape, they're from the solen scenario and were tossed willy-nilly across Britannia. Blocking house placement was an unintended result of their occurrence. ;)

Oh hey Mr./Ms. GM there are a few trees, a couple of rocks, and part of a mountain side blocking me from placing a castle. Do you mind removing all the trees and rocks and shaving away some of the mountain side so I can place a castle? please.

Some of those dirt patches still spawn Solen when you run through them. They're visible items, and can be highlighted with Ctrl + Shift.

Hey Mr GM, there's roughly 257 small stone towers all over LA, that Jeremy said would be removed. It's been slightly longer than 2 wks, how about you remove THOSE things that are blocking house placement?...kthx

Grats on the new home. But you know this post is only going to encourage even more non-game stoping pages over things people think might or might not be in the way of them placing a larger home. Just saying... in game support probly sucks so bad because too many people started paging over every little thing that hindered them in game. At least i think its part of the reason. But enjoy the castle :) I enjoy mine.

Because of the OP's post, I tried today to have a GM remove a mushroom that was blocking placement of a house on another shard. There used to be a house in that place and on at least three other shards that I checked, the mushroom in question is NOT there. I explained both of these things in my page for help, too.

Guess what?

GM Yariac responded that they couldn't help.

I guess in this game it really depends on who you know to get the GMs to help.

Shrooms don't obstruct placement. It's prolly an invisible object there. They won't remove those.

Tina - read Sarsmis post please. It has nothing to do with who you know, but what you ask to be removed.

Congrats on the Castle!

Uh....did you read the part about how there used to be a house in that spot? I have a screenshot showing the house that was there previously as recently as six months ago and it COVERS the spot where the mushroom is now.

I'm not an imbecile, Serafi. I read Sarsmi's post too.

And I guess it pays to pancake about stuff that isn't right or fair because I just logged in again and checked that spot again to try to make something smaller fit.

Guess what?

The freaking mushroom is gone and I placed a house of the size I wanted.

Actually not to discredit your hard work of verbal skills to attain your need....but...

The landscape does change from time to time. If you sit still in the woods long enough and watch... it will alter right before your very eyes..

i wonder if this could have happened to you? weeds shrooms, flowers, all change.

Nope, the object that was there is no longer there. It was a yellowish-orange oval shape, like a mushroom, but in more of a north-south direction and with no stem (i.e., about the size and shape of a rune but a solid color and no markings on it). It seemed to pulsate ever so slightly.

I tried placing houses of various sizes over it about 20 or more times and failed and managed to place houses of various sizes right next to it several times. About six of the times I tried to place and failed, the house was a 7x7 and I was trying to place directly over the object. Several times I placed a 7x7 right next to but not covering it, so I'm pretty sure that the oval shape I saw was the blocking object.

When I logged in after sending a feedback form after getting the disappointing response from the GM, the funny yellow-orange oval shape was gone and I was able to place a house in a spot that had been empty for about six months but before that had been the location of a large house for about 3 years and that covered the blocking spot and that I had been friended/accessed to at one time. I am not imaginging that a house was there...I had actually been in it and knew darn well it covered the spot where that funny oval shape was.

On top of that, I also checked on three different shards this morning before I paged the first time and walked around in that area and there was no similar object in that spot on the other shards.

GM Yariac has been busy then! As he/she didn't notice came and re-deeded some pesky skeletons for me! Ever so nice of him/her.

And congrats on your new castle! I know I've had the GM's remove paintings and those pesky statues that litter the landscape.

As for that boiling stew it's just as annoying. But they will come and remove that too.

Dunno who really helped me, somehow I was able to crash after the dirtplots got removed for me after 15-20 min waiting. Funny part is afterwards when I got the message saying that the GMs couldn't help me.
Now proud owner of a second Keep. Next goal is to find the owner of a Keep that occupies a Castle spot.

Ummm prolly was a stupid stew thingy from the house decay.

It's always been of great interest to me why some GMs appear to be "allowed" to be nice, and do really cool and helpful stuff on a regular basis, whereas others, basically (or so it would seem), aren't.

I wonder if it's like certain GMs are assigned to dealing with specific duties (probably would save time on training if you only have to train each one in a specific duty rather than ALL duties)

Would be cool if some official rep could comment on that in fact, so everyone can stop giving certain GMs un unnescessarily hard time about never being helpful?

I can't believe that 90% of GMs just aren't "cool" ;)

..

Or maybe it's just that some are so scared of getting fired for doing something they think is okay, but turns out not to be, so they rather play it safe and do nothing :D I'd like to think that's not the case though.
