So today we had thunderstorms. This is probably the second thunderstorm we've had all year, this being the high desert of Southern California. Today we also had a 20 minute power outage which came just as I hit 50% downloaded for SA.

I had hoped it would take up where I left off, but I got some error message about not being able to open a file and here I am starting over from scratch.

Ouch. I feel your pain. I'm at 92% (for the last hour) down to 3kb/sec and praying nothing happens.
Even closed all my other internet running programs so as not to 'stress' the connection .

90% - 100% is the slowest part, but that still sucks man. When I first installed it, I had to turn off my PC due to thunderstorms, and when I tried resuming, it did, perfectly, then when I created a character, crash. Logged into that character, crash. Logged onto another character, crash.


So I reinstalled it, patched 0-100% in one go, and it worked perfectly.

You could try running a quick ChkDsk. Since the computer would've been accessing the SA client files at the time of the shut down, those files are very likely corrupted - but that doesn't mean they can't be recovered.

hehe, I was so busy feeling sorry for myself, I just started anew and am back to the 53% mark. I should have done that, however. Ah well.
