Does the Bushido spell Honorable Execution, when successfully used really give you the bonus it is supposed to? I don't notice anything such bonus.

Umm the answer given sounds like this spell is totally useless. For example you will be using lightning strike for the hit chance bonus putting you on cap why would anybodoy bother trying to get the bonus from this spell? Then he goes on to talk if you succesfully honored a opponent and being healed which is all part of the honor perfection bonus anyway after killing the opponent. The damage bonus will last how long? Doesn't matter much everyone is at near max cap anyway. The 20 second swing increase if you kill it using this spell might be useful if you didn't have a penalty for missing which in all likelyhood will happen as you need to time the hit just right.

Yea spell is still completly useless in my opinion.

"Does the Bushido spell Honorable Execution, when successfully used really give you the bonus it is supposed to? I don't notice anything such bonus.

I’ve dug into the code to make sure this spell is working as advertised and this is what I found:

When the spell is first cast, you get a increase to hit chance based on your bushido skill level regardless of your target’s honor.

If you have successfully honored your opponent with the honor virtue, you will also gain a damage bonus based on your skill level and perfection bonus. Perfection bonus increases each time you hit your honored opponent. This damage bonus is in addition to the normal bonus you get to damage for honor perfection.

If the hit kills the enemy, the player gets healed and swing speed is increased for approximately 20 seconds. If you miss, your resists and magic defense is penalized for approximately 7 seconds. You are also unable to use special moves while the negative effects are on you. You can also remove the negative effects with a successful parry.

The part that might be confusing is that you cannot honor another player in PvP. So this spell will not give you any bonuses (outside of the initial hit chance increase) in PvP combat.

This answer threw me off a bit. I had submitted a similar question months ago, but I tested this since, and it DOES work as advertised. The question was about "the Bushido spell Honorable Execution" yet he throws in the "honor" the guy thing. Very confusing why he even mentioned honoring someone.

The part about an initial hit chance increase is interesting.

The opening of Malas wasn't a rare event? :(

Also, the Blackrock question is kinda overkill. They never even gave us a chance to figure out the blackrock/shield thing for ourselves. Draconi announced the use of it on the shields right here on Stratics before the Manifestations even arrived. Next time, please let us try to figure it out first before telling.

You 'could' use this to kill the hatchling beetles at the champ with a one hit, honorable execution, thus giving yourself a 20 SSI for the entire level 1 spawn, but why bother?

Yes, an unfortunately USELESS spell.

We've had the opening of Ilshenar and Tokuno as well, and we're going to have the opening of the SA area, and yeah :/

Unless I'm mistaken you have to use the honor virtue on your intended victim for this spell to work.

I have not played Factions in years what do you mean by "barriers?"

They making bunkers or fortified positions in factions war?
That would be so cool to make little castles... that actually work.

In this particular case, we all knew anyway. There wasn't anything to tell.

(Well, except for OxAO, I guess. Psst: The barriers are around the Shadowlords. They have nothing to do with factions).

Monsters have honor? Should this read "fame"?

Why are most of the threads dropped in magnecia not stackable? Some of them will stack and some will not, will this be fixed in any publish coming up soon?
There are no plans to change this. They all CAN stack; it is just a matter of finding the right threads to allow stacking.
-Misk
That's all well and good, but as for "why" -

Each thread, when used by a decent Spirit Speaker, will give your character a message. Different threads have different messages. Only threads with the same message will stack together.

The easiest way to deal with them is to drop them all onto a bag. Any threads that can stack will automatically do so.

Still, unless this spell allows you do exceed the damage cap (ie- 300% PvM / 200% PvP), this spell will essentially do nothing as you will be capped or near the cap in everything else it does.

I don't even remember getting Personal Bless Deeds from malas opening.... The bless deeds were given out (at least the first time) for no particular reason, I think it was around publish 16 or 14.... Or my memory could be totally off, but I had mine before Malas in either case.

PBD's were a reward for pre-ordering the AOS client

*edit* unliess you mean item bless deeds, which were given out as part of "Clean Up Brittania"

While I am completely sure I had my Personal Bless Deeds prior to AOS, I am also completely sure I pre-ordered it, But if that is the case why would my account have them and not my wife? But since I am not sure about the AOS part, I wont disagree. Simply saying what I can remember, I suppose someone has the release notes for AOS to verify this. :p

Personal bless deeds were a part of the "sorry for the disastrous launch of AoS and thank you for sticking with us through it" package.
It included PBD, a personalised rose or garment, and a boost of a skill or the stat cap.

Is incorrect. After trying to get my collection of almost 600 threads to stack even partially, I gave up. The old threads will not stack, no matter if you have the right ones or not. Not that it really matters anymore, as most, if not all, have been turned in by now.

Personal Bless Deeds and Mini House deeds both came from registering an account for the AoS expansion within a certain time frame after release AND logging in with all chars who should get it within this time frame.
The "Sorry" package gave you the choice of some items (like the AoS roses or blessed clothing) and the option to select a skill bonus/stat bonus (the later has been applied later to all account older than 6 month for balance reasons).

For those who feel bad about missing out on personal bless deeds, I lost mine a long time ago due to a blacksmithy bug UO used to have which smelted items instead of repairing them by use of the crafting menu. Of course UO does nothing when something like that happens so I never got another one. So if ya'll get a new one, pencil me in too, haha.

Blessed items are great, but at the end of the day this game is a rental and we own nothing so as long as you can play knowing one day a bug or a server crash could get rid of everything you think you "own," then what's the difference? Blessed or not, we're pretty much ****ed in the end and they have our cash.

Yeah, I'm still bitter, lol. But you know what, anyone who had to play through that piece of **** called Age of Shadows deserved one of those bless deeds.

So in other words, don't ever bless something you need to repair or a weapon or anything you disarm/rearm a lot, because one day there will be a bug, like for example, you'll try to arm a wep while you're getting killed and the item, bless deed intact, will fall with your corpse, a player or monster will pick it up, and blah blah blah.

Seen it so many times. The insurance bug, etc., just what is the point of a bless deed when the game is so ****ing bugged?

I lost my bless deed because I stuck my dagger with the deed on it in a chest that wasn't locked down in my house. Came back later, and poof, gone. I had to kick my own ass for that one. :)

You are correct Conner, Old Threads WON'T Stack, I have a bag of what was 120 threads from the Moonglow Invasion, Were all 1 type, when the 3 diff types came out they ALL changed to the 3 Different types of threads & None will stack with each other or the newer ones.

The FoF was talking about the Magincia threads, not the Moonglow threads.

At the time of the Moonglow invasion none of the threads were stackable. This feature wasn't introduced until a later patch, but as with all "new" stackables, the patch was not retro-active to items already existing in the game world.
