we all know tokuno is dead. you can travel there and you will never meet another player there.
even the champ spawn is barely used

every one or two years ToT comes and tokuno will be filled with players, but much less than the last time.

i missed ToT1, but i remember ToT2 when i had to compete with others players for killing rune beetles, now in ToT3 i almost "OWN" the spot i am hunting in beetlescape, sometimes another player passes by.

nobody cares about the major or minor arties except a hand full players who missed tot1/2, the majority are after the pigments. and now omg only one charge.

so the questions i ask myself is .... why is/was origin/EA so stingy to give us colors. a lot players like to dye their stuff to make it unique or becasue they are fashion addicted whatever. ( the most neons were awful and it was ok to remove them from tot)

so why not making the tokuno drop system permanent but only for pigments at a rarer drop rate, like the anti virtue dungeon drops.

and even more, implement a pigment drop system even for t2a and malas?

this would make worth hunting in these areas again and fill it with players and gives an alternative to hunt beside champs whatever

i mean the most are doing champs now, because the chance of getting something worth. this would give alternatives in hunting and prevent getting bored from the game.

there isnt much to do in UO these times ..... peerles, champs and bank sitting for the majority .... that cant be all

nobody hunts for the crappy loot in monsters (EA should really should make better loot, armor pieces like you can get using valorite or barbed kits at a rare basis .... nobody wants leather with 2/3/10/5/6 resists for example)

EA the code is written already ... all you need to do is using the lever to trun it on (beside tiny modifications)

Didnt they say that lowering the weight of gold was a precursor to increased intensities on loot?

I realize that it's not what the thread is about, but when I saw the title, my first thought was, "I don't think there's *anything* that could make Malas look attractive."

No, we don't all know this. Take a walk around Zento. You'll run into someone. Probably quite a few someone's too.

You must hunt on a low population shard. On Pac you're lucky to find a spot without the entire area being swarmed. On weekends you want to hit your favorite spot and stay there until you're ready to log off, because if you leave for even a minute or 2, it'll be occupied by the time you get back. I think it's even busier now than ToT 1 was (I was there), and even more so than ToT 2.

Nobody? Then why is it I sell out 2-3 times every day of the minor arties? That's roughly 40-60 arties per day being sold, and this happens almost every day. Sure seems to be someone interested in them. I also sell out of RBC's and Stormgrip's regularly.

Nobody huh? Well, maybe, but then again, maybe not.

Oh, I don't know. I think the dyes are cool the way they are now. You hunt and/or trade around for the color(s) you want to use for any particular character, and stockpile until the next ToT comes out. That's been the way of ToT since the first one.

It's a thought, but I don't think I'd like to see it going year round. The dyes wouldn't hold nearly as much interest as they do each time ToT is turned back on.

Nah, keep it in Tokuno where it belongs, not that it wouldn't be nice for there to be something original about T2A and Malas other than the normal landmarks. Each land should have it's own unique reason for hunting there.

I agree.

Oh, I don't know about that. Quite a few of us are splitting our days between Peerless and beta. ;)

There's a WHOLE bunch of things other than this to do in UO. Even with all day to play, it's hard to find enough time to do everything you want to.

I think it would be more than just a little coding. They'd have to implement the ToT code into Malas and T2A to do that, which wasn't a simple code if I remember correctly from when ToT was first introduced. That was the first time they used the new event mob coding and that particular reward system also, I believe.

You can get the LT Sash from Tokuno champ and Onis/Hiryus have decent loot. Citadel ninjas give good loot too. Why people like to do the paragon-filled Ilsh spawns is beyond me.

I admit, as I run around Tokuno and come across the wild Yamadons and various spawns points, I say stuff like, "what...I don't remember this rotting corpse spawn." Then again, I really don't hunt in Shame, or the anti-virtue dungeons either (but they have the 10th items so that's cool).

Maybe they could give Yamadons a small chance at a minor ToT drop year-round.

Malas is pretty much for miners and getting the Bedlam quest done, hehe. "T2A" is fine the way it is in my opinion, just that Draconi never ended up doing anything with Snake Skins ('less I missed it).

As far as better Loot goes, I don't think this is a real issue with the introduction of the imbuing skill. I know that this will be flamed since most of us have no more room for another char or skill, but hopefully this will help build a community atmosphere, again. Like what we had before the introduction of the repair scrolls. I enjoyed repairing armor and creating new armor for other players, but with the advent of repair scrolls it brought down the community feel of UO. No one wants to rely on another player not of their particular guild/alliance.
As far as changes to the other facets, I don't think that alot needs to be changed. I use different char templates for different facets/areas. Malas for example has the Doom gauntlet, nightmares, an Orc fort among other things.
Lost Lands has alot of interesting places to hunt. Fire dungeon for one. (the only place you can get a Fire steed).
I don't think that implementing the dyes in any other facet is a good idea. For one, in about 4 months everyone would be bored with them, the value would drop to nothing, and mainly, who wants to look like every other player on their shard.
I personally like the way the ToT dye problem is being handled. Every ToT event has had new dyes. The idea of reducing them to one charge each helps to prolong the event for everyone. (by prolong I mean, that no one can go get 10 minors and just turn them in for a 50 charge major dye.)
Besides why would a Minor be more than a single charge? Does it make sense to make a multi-charge minor?
I think everyone has lost sight of the idea that UO was community based from the beginning. I think that the Dev team is just trying to slowly turn it back into a community, with the advantages of solo play still available.
Think about it, back in the day, would you be a arse to the guy who was regularly repairing your armor? Nope, because unless you had your own smith, the word would get around and you would have a very hard time getting repairs.
I remember when entire guilds used too gather together to run a dungeon, with plenty of people helping to rez the stray solo player, cross heal each other and pets, and in general have a great time. But now, most people won't even venture into those dungeons (destard for instance) because of the lack of companions, difficulty of the monsters.
I think if we had a community feel about UO again, it might breath a little life back into fel as well. Not many people (outside of the guilds running the spawns) will go to fel to hunt anymore. In fact most players have never been to fel and totally refuse to give it a try.
I guess what I am saying is, lets give the Devs a chance and see what direction they are heading. Remember, these are not the same people who have run rough-shod over the code for the past 11 years.
Changing the code for the other facets was mentioned, as the OP said, the code for the ToT was a totally new system, and would reek havoc if it were to be implemented on other facets.

I disagree with almost every point in the OP, for the reasons Connor listed.

But sort of on topic (atleast what I *thought* this thread was gonna be about before I've had enough coffee) if you want to see a *physically* unattractive place, go to Heartwood.

Solution? Blow it up with Blackrock/Armageddon spell like Old Haven and start over from scratch.

And let EM Cernunnos and Kasaven from Catskills redesign it! They could do better than just about anyone imho.
