Sampire in making - help required...

Ok, for millionth time: a sampire topic.
Im having a hard time deciding what skill to sacrifice.
After doing some reading and homework my plan was:
120 swords
120 parry
120 bushido
100 tactics
100 anatomy
99 necromancy
rest in chivalry
and here is a problem: all its left for chivalry is 41 for me :(
when I started on this template I didnt even know that
part of being veteran is getting higher skill caps...
which gives me a bit of a headache. Not only its pretty hard to get
your mods right - now I have pretty nasty skill shortage.
So here is my question - which skill should I sacrifice for missing
skillpoints? I was thinking anatomy ( or tactics ), any more suggestions? 10 off each: parry and bushido ?
Im currently looking like this ( real skills ):
113 swords
103 parry
110 bushido
100 tactics
98 anatomy
99 necromancy
67 chivalry
resists: 67/68/68/65/71 ( in vamp form )
DI 100, HCI 33, DCI 42
no HLA or HLD at all :(
no 120 scrolls yet too

using either soul seeker for humanoids or ornate axe with HSL 38, HML 63, SSI 15, DI 40.
Currently learning to play this template on Tsuki Wolves and for some reason Im having a bit of a problem with them too - I miss alot even with Lightning strike. What I could be doing wrong ?

Long post of whining , but I want this template to work :)
Please :D

Drop parry or bushido or anatomy or a combination of those 3 down til you can fit 60 chivalry in there. Any less is just not an option. I can't even Sacred Journey half the time with 60, but UO hates me.

If you have all the power scrolls for 120 in each skill, then drop anatomy to fit in chivalry.

If you don't, then you don't have an issue.

The best solution, however, is to find a ring with +15 in a skill that you use.

Yep, I'd drop Anatomy myself if it were me.

Gotta say I looked forward to when I finally hit my 4th yr and no longer had to worry about the skill points.

the reason your missing so much even with lightning strike is cause u have no hld....hld is a must on a sampire

Wanted to do some update on how it goes for me:
Gathered majority of equipment I wanted. So my gear looks like this:
Mace and Shield glasses
Jackals Collar
decent resist(not great, decent) arms with +8 stam
fey leggings
ancient samurai do ( to help cope with skillpoint shortage I have )
stormgrip
Mellisa's cloak
conjurers trinket
ring: HCI 7, DCI 12, DI 11
bracelet: STR 3, HCI 8, DCI 9, FC 1, LRC 5
Large Battle Axe: HSL 48, HML 60, HLD 42, SSI 25, DI 41
still saving for crimson :)

All this leaves me at this:

70/56/60/47/66, DI 97, HCI 25, DCI 41, HLD 71.
hp/mana/stam = 110/44/153

So at this point I have more questions as you guys might imagine:
1. Is HLD cumulative (glasses + axe)?

2. What is optimum HLD because I have alternative gear to even out resists:
Ember leggings,
ancient samurai helm
quiver of infinity
that brings my resists to 65/67/63/66/64 with same DI 97, HCI 25, DCI 41 but HLD down to 42
also lower hp/mana/stam = 99/44/148

3.I've seen posts rating weapon in some DPS list...anyone has link to where or how u rate it, because I saw one fella asking to rate his weapon he crafted/looted and reply was that with such low SSI its only 24th in dps list...so it was quite specific...

4. My axe: its not heavy ornate but I think is quite good. Any feedback ?
also I keep reading that every sampire has about 3 weapons they use...
what it is based on ? specials ? if someone could elaborate on that...

thanks again for any replays,
Lantash

I'll take a stab at items 1 and 2 -

HLD is not additive, but cumulative. With glasses at 30 HLD and Axe at 42 HLD,

Total HLD = 1 - (1-30)(1-42)= 59.4% rounded to 59%

Using only the glasses at 30% HLD, you average 3.33 swings before the HLD hits. With the Axe and 42% HLD, you average 2.38 swings before the HLD hits. The more is better, but I like to have +40% HLD because it's only an average and can be a long time before HLD hits with the glasses if the RNG doesn't favor you. There is a cap on HLD, but it is almost impossible to hit it.

*EDIT*
Okay... adding information about item 3 - the DPS. Stratics has two pages that should help answer your question.
The first is the weapons page, which is the one that I think you are referring to. You can add in your Dex, SSI% and such to rate your weapons.:
http://uo.stratics.com/content/arms-armor/arms.php

The second is the combat page:
http://uo.stratics.com/content/arms-armor/combat.php

Both of these pages are very useful comparing two weapons, for DPS, Speed and overall Damage.

Yeah, you'll be toast (literally) with Fire that low in your resists. You need more Fire and Poison or you'll take more damage than you can leech back.

I'm starting a sammy myself - which shows how bored/epic fail my pvp is going to even consider doing something like this. Anyway so far I've noticed

1) I miss a lot with LS with capped HCI - is HLD the answer? It's what I am trying.
2) I will reserve judgement until 120 bush/parry but so far as I can see evasion is basically a pile of garbage
3 ) You need a trapped box if not runing resist
4) it's hard to fit healing/anat if you want to use the carapace. It's even harder to fit healing anat if you want EP as well as lmc and capped dci/hci. My jewel choices are 40 skills and 30 hci OR EP 50 and 30 hci and 10 dci (but not enough skill points).
5) if you wanna feint a lot and use ls you will need the lmc

My current testing method is chaos shrine ballys. I am not too worried about my epic failing yet as most skills are between 100-110, still waiting for the swampy to bond and the weps are average atm.

Evasion is far from garbage. It's a life saver when used correctly. It can also keep you from getting nailed by the initial mana dump from any monster.

True but I felt better saying it.

Seriously though I'll only worry when/if it continues to utterly fail as an emergency life saver at 120 bush/parry and gm anat/tact. Until then I will shrug, get a res at shrine and go back.

*edit* Interesting - I grabbed my mace and shield glasses and a cheap 30 ssi mana leech kryss with 40 Hit Lower Attack to test HLA/HLD together.

The combination of HLA/HLD has made a noticeable difference, killing ballys without a slayer, without honoring, without evasion (it's UBWS kryss I am swordsman), without anat or healing and without pots without resist or a trapped box (as I said it was purely to test HLA/HLD together). It rocks I will now not consider a final build without HLA & HLD on it without good reason. I know it's only a bally but like I said I wanted to see the effect of those two mods in isolation. Just thought I would share this.

*edit2* might as well stick it here, went back without EP but with gheal pots, using same cheapskate UBWS kryss so no evasion, used honour, put tactics/anatomy on (no bandie healing atm). Only 10 HCI, 45 DCI, 32 lmc, 100 DI. Took a para bally down.

What I learnt
-Capping HCI on items not as important as other mods
-HLA/HLD is a nice mod combo
-Pots are lifesavers even with no ep
-100 DI is nice to have along with tact/anat
-The only time I ran was after a para (no trapped box as kept losing them from dying hehe)
-The initial mana dump can be vicious and you need to evade at the start

This is probably regurgitated for many of you - fine move along. The "use the search!!!111" nazis that have taken over the internet make me sick tbh.

What makes me sick is lazy dbags who are too much of bums to find the data that is already available.

When I want to know something I look for it online via Stratics, Forums, or UO Guide. If it hasn't been answered then I actually test it.

I don't mind sharing what I've learned, but I do mind sharing the same piece of info 50 times.

!20 Bush
120 Parry
120 Swords
120 Tact
100 SS
67.8 necro 100 with gear worn at all times
68 chiv would like it at 70 but kinda cramped

non faction gear 100%

still close to all caps, just need to be very selective midnight braces hurt your gear but its what I use for now to help keep my neco 100.

curse wep, pre cast before a hard fight and surviabilty goes way up but the key is not armor, its a weapon that hits hard and has the right stats.
I had anatomy last year before they cried so hard they got my vamp embrace nerfed, I lost about 10% DI but gained a bunch of good spells, made my char more pvp viable

bout 8 mounts ago I had an epic dual with a crimmy drag I lost but got it down about 1/3

solos doom and some peerless, need mana increase though intel dont cut it, if you run out of mana you die with a sampire.
