The other day I was working my Bushido and was thinking there should be a natural LMC bonus if you hit 120 in a skill that requires mana..

Basically, if you hit 120 in Bushido/Ninjitsu/Magery/Chivalry/etc. you've reached the ultimate level of mastery for that skill... So, as a bonus for reaching legendary I think you should get a, say, 5% LMC bonus for spells cast with the 120 skill. After all, you'd think someone who has reached the ultimate level of mastery for Magery would have found out a way to cast a spell more efficiently than a player who only has 30.0 Magery, right?

Just a thought..

While I would be happy for a little extra LMC for my legendary Bushido, I think:
a.) Hard points where things happen (although admittedly less so for cap), are not good design.
b.) There's already enough benefits, in many cases, for legendary.
c.) Something else, which I forgot, while wondering if I needed to add anything to point b. But it was very profound.

This is how it works now...

"Special moves have the normal mana cost, depending on the warrior's skills. Add up the skill points for Swords, Mace Fighting, Fencing, Archery, Parrying, Lumberjacking, Stealth, Poisoning, Bushido and Ninjitsu. If the total lies between 200 and 299, subtract 5 from the Mana Cost. If the total is 300 or more, subtract 10 from the Mana Cost."

So you are right... skill changes LMC.

I never tested if this means minus 5 mana or minus 5%.
I never tested if this is added to the 40% LMC cap (if it means minus 5%) or 40% is the hard cap...

I've tested it an it means minus 5 mana not minus 5%.
I've tested it this -5 or -10 mana is taken out from the base mana cost of the specials then the 40% LMC is applied after.

For example, moving shot has a base mana of 15. If you are a human and have 120 archery, with JoAT you have met the requirement for a -10 mana discount on all specials. This means your moving shot base mana is now (15 minus 10) 5. Now you apply the 40LMC to 5 mana which makes it 3. That means a human legendary archer only needs 3 mana to perform a moving shot or 6 mana to chain it at 1.5sec a pop. Sounds too good to be true? :D
