Is Mace fighting a viable option these days in UO?

I'm building a char and i want the template to be built around Macing.
Gonna be for RP and PvM.
Will be a warrior build with Chivalry as gonna be a Paladin.

I dont see these types of build about, all sampire and that these days so i was just wondering if this would still work or am i wasting my time with Macing?

Actually its a good skill if you choose to PvM or PvP. Good for PvP because it damages armor and hits really hard. Good for PvM because it hits hard and a silver etched mace is an undead slayer. The only downside I see to macing is its speed. To be effective you need good SSI though how much i'm not sure, i'll leave that to the Warrior Gods to answer.

My macer is a paladin. It is a very solid build. I prefer using either a mace or a hammer pick. The speed of macing is not a big deal. There are fast, low damage weapons and slow high damage weapons, just like the other warrior skills.

One advantage of macing, is there is a wide assortment of wooden weapons available to use.

Macing is an overlooked skill in my opinion. There are several good weapons for a chiv macer. I like the tokuno minor the Exiler for Demons and Succubus. It is pretty fast, and can take down both of those monsters very quickly. As someone already mentioned, the silver etched mace works good on undead and those can be found at a reasonable price. As far as an overall weapon, that would just depend on what you can find. I have a pretty good war axe that I use, but a lot of people like the diamond maces.

Macing is a great weapon skill with many good choices.

War Axes are nice, bleed/AI.

Hammer Pick, Mortal/AI.

Mace, Disarm/conc. (fast weapon easy to cap your swing speed)

Gnarled Staff, Para/Conc (great finisher)

Just my opinion, but another overlooked weapon for macing is the Wrath of the Dryad Gnarled Staff. I use that with my macer and never has to worry about Mana.

Some people don't have multiple soulstones or gold Connor. But yes, I use all three as well.

They all have their uses.
