Mace and shield has 15 stat points (which is invaluable), not to mention 30 HLD. Hld is a MUST in pvp, even in pvm its nice to have. Having it on the glasses is doubly valuable as you don't have to have it on the weapon.
Other than that, I'm sure the resists are better too. But I'd stick to mace and shield.

I agree with Barl AND the resists on the Daimyo's Helm are god awful.
Resists of 6/2/10/2/3 is in no comparison to resists of 25/10/10/10/10, not to mention the STR bonus, the Dexterity bonus and then of course the HLD on them.
Daimyo's Helm:
Self Repair 3
Swing Speed Increase 10%
Physical Resist 6%
Fire Resist 2%
Cold Resist 10%
Poison Resist 2%
Energy Resist 3%
Lower Requirements 100%
Mage Armor
Durability 255
That's a three mod item, and two of those mods stink (lower requirements and self repair). Granted, the other mod is unavailable through other hats, but still doesn't compenate for pure suck in other areas.
You could do better than that with a spined sewing kit.

In principal I totally agree with all the answers above, but
if you can get your resists up without good resists in your headpiece
if you have HLD on your weapon(s) of choice
if you max out in STR and DEX in other ways and have a good mana pool
if that 10SSI makes you realy swing faster
then it is a choice you can make.

Yeah, pots to 150 dex and then go from there....all +6 or +7 or +8 stam pieces!
