How much stealth do I need for PVM?

I play a stealth tamer with 100 stealth. I stoned the stealth skill from another char so I havent tried it lower. My gear is all leather. Can I get by with less stealth and not fail a stealth check? What I use stealth for is walking around champ spawns hidden letting my dragon do all the work and stealthing around dragons loring them looking for a good one.

If I can lower stealth without failing the stealth checks I think I can add SW to my template which would be fun.

Oh incase it matters, I only have 30 hiding and I stealth with invis.

I have never done it with Hide at 30 but I would say with all leather you could probably get away with .... what I think the chart suggested 65 or so to start adding metal to the mix?

I am confident that at 80 you would be good (not taking the 30 hi8ding into account).

My stealther has 100 hide and 100 stealth. Two of my stealthers have around 80 stealth and around +20 to stealth in jewels and the bandanna to get them around 100 stealth.

My stealth tamer is 100 hiding and 80 stealth. Now where hiding comes in is once you reach the max amount of steps for your stealth the system checks your hiding and if you fail you are revealed. But for PvM with any medable armor 80 is good for stealth.

I have 100/100 and 100/60+ item stealthers. I prefer not being at the 60 mark in more dangerous spawn. You need to be prepared to be revealed and swiftly re-hide, which means knowing the hide timer and being a lot more careful. Also, the stealth skill you have will affect the steps you can take before you take a skill check and stealth again. So ideally if you ran with say 65 stealth, you'd want to carry a few skill items as I do, so you can scout through a tight spawn more safely.

I'd say 70-80 is a much stronger level to have as your base. If I hadn't added stealth on as an afterthought with my main tamer, that's what I'd have done instead.

Try it out on test centre and see how it feels in practice, or you can start training and take a spin around the champs to see how it's working out.

75 stealth for zero fail in meddable gear

80 stealth for shadowstrike (unsure of hiding reqs)

However, as someone already mentioned, there is a hiding check each time you attempt to stealth. If you run less than GM hiding you run the risk of failing that check and revealing yourself.

I really doubt that hiding check each time there is a stealth check. I have been running 100 stealth 30 hiding for a long time and I never fail the stealth check.

Hmm 30 hiding and relying on invis could get you into some very sticky situations if you get targetted by a dangerous group. I'm not saying you won't survive, but you will need to be very very careful if that's how you're running.

Also, I'm sure I read somewhere that if you stealth from an invis, the invis will still wear off and reveal you. I've always re-hidden to prevent that happening, but if that's right, you'll have to be aware of that too.

You are correct, invis does still wear off like normal when you stealth from invis. I just make sure to keep ane eye on my invis buff timer. I've never had a problem with it. I do have 30 hiding so if I'm in a situation where I know I'll want to stay hidden I keep trying to hide ahead of time until it works. This works great for the lower levels of champ spawns.

On a side note. If anyone is planning an invis stealth template you have to have at least 30 hiding. You can't stealth (even from invis) with lower than 30 hiding.

I have 100 hiding, and 78 stealth. I almost never get revealed by lower level monsters. I do occasionally get revealed by high end monsters or monsters that cast.

even at 100/100 I got revealed once in a while by GD's and the like. fairly lethal when you're not paying complete attention
