First off, everyone is talking about the dcisions I have made. I regret nothing, I'd like us all to focus on the topic.

Please help me get out of Pacific server! :cursing:

I met a lot of disappointing people on this server. :coco:

I feel like an dunce for making a fully customized 18x18 house here. :dunce:

Looking for a player oriented server (if there are any). :bored:

Maybe a place with reasonably cheap player vendored items? :blushing:

Every time I think I have a friend on this server, they take my money and run off because I am very generous. :wall:

I think I am going to drink tea to cool off now, just lost a friend that I gave 8 million to, thought he was my bro but he was more into other people than me.

I'd do anything for a real friend that I can count on that won't ditch me when am generous to them! Everyone wants my stuff! I have been playing for 6 years and the only fun I have is being generous to people, especially noobs.

I am going nuts on my server. :danceb:

554865130 ICQ me please...

Well, Balhae i think it is has a very respectful PvP group. If thats your bag.

I play on GL and for the most its a nice group. Even the PvPers i dont like are nice enough and its all just in game dislike. In my time ive only know 1person to actually do what seems to have happened to you. Everyone else for the most part seems nice.

I wouldn't suggest atlantic! From what i hear that is an ass-hat of a shard! Maybe try one of the smaller shards?

I would always recommend GL although the prices arent cheap(comparable to Atl), most people though bend over backwards to help a new/returning player out.

If you play PAC I doubt you'd ping well here, but Catskillians are quite hospitable. Of course Yew gate fel isn't the place to spam "looking for friends" no matter WHERE you go. If you want to try Cats, give me a shout!

I would recommend not giving 8 million to people.

I'm not sure any of my characters have ever individually possessed that much gold. Giving away such a sum, unless you are truly apathetic on the matter (and you're not, or you wouldn't have mentioned it), will only lead to disappointment.

Edit: I can't help wonder if this has anything to do with a certain neck-slot item.

I've given over 20 million away to less fortunate players. even friends. over the course of months.

I dunno ive given away alot of things to guildies...Dreadmares, Full suits of crafted mage armour/dexxer armour/awesome weapons/Arties.

Some i practically give away :), some i do just give away. I have yet to be disappointed.

There's nothing wrong with giving stuff away if you don't care about the items in concern.

But if you find yourself pissed off about it when the people throw it back in your face, then you should think hard about why you're doing it.

I see your point, to be honest all i ask when i give stuff away is that the new owner takes care of it, doesnt lose it and if they no longer need it to pass it on(preferably in guild) to someone who can.

I would be annoyed if a person took something i gave them to turn around and sell it.

If you're leaving Pac can I have your stuff? j/k

I'd do anything for a real friend that I can count on that won't ditch me when am generous to them!
Perhaps that's the problem? Next time, don't expect anything in return (even friendship) when you give your stuff away. It might help a bit. (No I'm not being sarcastic here.)

And yeah, sorry man.
Oh and don't feel too bad about it. It's Pac after all. Chances of your running into a real life loser is pretty high there.

I don't feel bad about anything I give away. Just when I give it to friends.
I never expect anything in return from anyone except gratitude.

I'm East Coast US ... had characters on:
Lake Austin - primary shard
Europa
Catskills

However through the years also played GL, LS, Pac and Atl. LA became my primary because of the people who played there (altho it is small in population). I was not into PvP, but ask in the LA forum if you're interested.

Am I the only one on Pac not running into asshats? I've pretty much always had a good experience anywhere I've gone. I've handed over items and gold with values in excess of 20m with no worries that the person would run, and no one ever did.

I'm starting to think that some people just make natural targets, and the asshats pick up on that, then take advantage of it.

Start new characters on a couple of shards and play with them for a couple of weeks. That will give you time to evaluate the people who regularly play those shards and learn about other aspects of the shards (e.g., events, shopping, availability of housing). It will also give you some time to decide if you really do want to leave Pacific. You may find out you're perfectly fine for now leaving everything you already have on Pacific and living out of a bankbox and maybe a boat or two on the other shard(s) for a while.

If there are still a few people that you play with and trust, see if they will try out some new shards with you. If you find a different shard you like, then perhaps one of you can let go of a house on Pacific and place a house on the new shard. Then you can share houses on both Pacific and the new shard(s). I do that now with a small group of friends and can tell you that it's been a real treat to settle into a new shard this way, all living out of the same house. Each person has one or two characters named as a co-owner of the house. Everyone has their own separate set of chests for organizing their own things and there are other chests for organizing everything else (e.g., extra armor, jewelry, weapons, potions and petals, crafting supplies, BODs, faction traps and removal kits, power and stat scrolls, etc.), as well as a rune library, dye tubs, fountains of life, and crafting add-ons for everyone to use in common.

We started out touring the North American shards to eventually be in factions on each one and now we've got shared houses and developed characters (or ones that are well into their training) on just about every North American shard. Everyone in our small guild seems to enjoy training up characters in so many places and being able to play basically wherever we want, whenever we want. You may not want to be quite as ambitious, but building up characters on multiple shards may be something you would enjoy doing with a couple of close and trusted friends. Who knows where it might lead you and who else you might meet along the way.

I've met some good people on Chessy, although the fel crew on there seems pretty anti-social -- I'm mostly a trammy though, so it doesn't bother me much. I've heard good things about Cats and Europa.

I am currently on Great Lakes.

Though I haven't been there that long, less than 2 weeks in fact, there's a lot to like about it.

Before that, I was on Lake Superior.

There was also a lot to like about Lake Superior.

Years and years ago, I was on Europa for awhile. I had good experiences there too.

Perhaps I'm just mostly lucky.

I assure you things aren't perfect by anyone's definition on any of the 3 shards I've played on.

I know of someone who went to Atlantic and had a fun time, but damn if that shard isn't expensive!

On any shard, there's going to be beautiful daises, roses without thorns, roses with thorns, manure, and raw sewage.

You are giving people gold but expecting something in return for it. Maybe you should think about why that is before you try to buy any more relationships with what you have, since it only seems to be leading you towards dissappointment.

The Giver Should Be Thankful

While Seisetsu was the master of Engaku in Kamakura he required larger quarters, since those in which he was teaching were overcrowded. Umezu Seibei, a merchant of Edo, decided to donate five hundred pieces of gold called ryo toward the construction of a more commodious school. This money he brought to the teacher.

Seisetsu said: "All right. I will take it."

Umezu gave Seisetsu the sack of gold, but he was dissatisfied with the attitude of the teacher. One might live a whole year on three ryo, and the merchant had not even been thanked for five hundred.

"In that sack are five hundred ryo," hinted Umezu.

"You told me that before," replied Seisetsu.

"Even if I am a wealthy merchant, five hundred ryo is a lot of money," said Umezu.

"Do you want me to thank you for it?" asked Seisetsu.

"You ought to," replied Uzemu.

Why should I?" inquired Seisetsu. "The giver should be thankful."

There really are some wonderful players in the PaxLair alliance of guilds on Chesapeake and they can be/are both of the fel side and tram side. There are also some wonderful players in other alliances and guilds on Chesapeake as well. Housing spots on Chesapeake will be not as plentiful but they are out there some are just a bit more remote if ya lookin for 18 x 18 plots they can be found...just not right close into some town areas.

Of course shopping LUNA on nearly any shard will always be pricery...but bargains can be found in other cities or near other moongates farther away from LUNA

Siege also has quite a few reliable friendly folks, but of course that is an all fel ruleset and entirely different skills gain system, and not as populated. . prices for many player run player vendor items are less than most shards though. And yes lots of em stealth so it can look like no one is there. :) THEY ARE. :)

I play both Ches. and Siege shards and I feel there are some good peeps on both those shards .............and as with any shard you will also run into jerks anywhere. Can't let them bug ya though...or none of us would remain playing for long. :) The good friendly sorts of people are out there probably on every shard. Hope ye luck changes sounds like you have much invested right where you are ...ya just need to run into some different or better calibur of folks is all.

You are always welcome in PaxOku City on the Chesapeake shard. Were always looking for good people to help in the city and we also have city guilds like RP orcs, Svages and the Blue Guard as well as a Crafters Society.

We don't need gold or houses or items. We are looking for people that are willing to play in an Open door policy community where we welcome everyone. Not just people were friends with or pick and choose.

I sent you an icq as well. my number is 267944224

I gotta agree with Connor here. I've played Pacific for a long, long time and must say the vast majority of players are good people. Is it possible you have just hit a bad streak?

What goes around comes around I have always followed that rule even in UO. When you do something nice for others without expecting something back from them it comes back around to you in 10 folds. Instead of thinking this person wronged you think of this as something you did out of the goodness of your heart.

Maybe the problem isn't so much with other folks.

I have to defend Pacific. As I sit here and think about it I haven't run into a jackass on Pacy for a long time. Sure sometimes people are going to have a bad day and want to take it out on someone in game. It happens to all of us.
But Pacy is a decently populated shard and by just playing the odds there are way more decent people than crappy ones.

you will not find what you are looking for on any populated EA server. Pacific is my shard and I have found some of the best people there. You cant buy friends on UO everyone is for the most part out for them selves, Out of 12 years i can count on both hands the people who I truly can say are friends.

Hey man... i feel for ya. Ive been on pac since it started and watched it go downhill. There are still a lot of good people on Pacific though. Most tend to keep to themselves and the small groups they know because you just cant trust a lot of players now. more so than past years. If you end up staying on Pacific and see me in game let me know. My main char is Malimus and I dont want your items and gold... got more than enough of my own.

Atlantic has more players.

You are more than likely to find the great ones....and the bad ones. Law of averages at work.

Stop giving stuff away and youll be fine. From your post, if its true, you have given away more in a month than I have made in years.

Money doesnt buy happiness. In RL it comes very close. But In UO it doesnt.

I was Atlantic for years, and way way way back LS (which have some very nice people too).

LA is a very friendly place. Are there asshats? Yes, but if there weren't it would be too nice a shard (sweetness and light overload!). However, I don't run into evil jerks but once in a while (mainly at an IDOC is where I seem to find those).

LA is pretty low population, but it seems to be coming back as of late. Also, lots of great house spots with the low pop, so yay for that!

Edit: And P.S. don't give people things, you don't need to give away things to make friends. People need to value you for you, not for what you can give them.
