[Necromancy] To get best Animates?

Hey all,

What is the min spirit speak and and necro skill to get the best animates off of high fame corpses? Is there a calculator for that?

Like would 110 SS and 100 necro be enough to get the highest level animate off of an ancient wyrm?

I'm unaware if high SS & Necromancy skill affects the strength of the animate.The strength of the risen undead is greatly modified by the fame of the original creature but as for actual skill levels affecting it (Apart from the casting success) i'm unaware of it.

Testing required perhaps?

I am fairly sure Hex is correct on this, tho the "stronger" Animates might not seem to be the strongest to you. I am not sure what the exact calculations are as far as what fame equals what animate but I am at the very least 99% sure your skill level does not effect what animate you get.

Examples the highest Repond animate will be a lich lord, availale of o biped creatures(succubus, barracoon) and a few others i believe.

Dragon is Skeletal dragons. However the reptile class of animates is a little wierd.

Mid-levels(drakes) give you lichs, ophidians flesh golems dragons flesh golems. Shadow/ancients Skele Drags.

All arachnids (up to and including dread spiders only exception is meph) give you a mound of maggots(useless).

The necro skill doesnt affect what you get...only what is tied to that creature.

So it would seem that it doesn't matter what my necro or ss is, as long as I have enough skill to cast animate dead I should be all set? (Given that I animate the correct corpse of course).

Alrighty, I am going to give this a test. I have a tight template and I want to drop Necro down a bit (110 now) so I can fit some more points in elsewhere.

Because i only have 1year vet account(so 705skills) all my necros are 105 or below.

Do you use Bloodwood? I was going to use it for the +5 necro and +10 SS to bring my SS to 120.

BTW, my template is:

100 Med
100 Lock Pick (Swap out with Carto to decode maps)
90 Magery (+20 from Crystaline Ring for 110 total)
100 Necro (+5 from Bloodwood Spirit)
110 SS (+10 from Bloodwood Spirit)
120 Spell Weaving

Suit = 18 MR, 40% LMC, 100% LRC and be in Wraith Form.

Personally if your planning on solo maps iw ouldnt suggest necro anyway.

But, if you do then good for you. Should be fun hehe

I dont use the bloodwood no, either the totem of void or treatise of alchemy.

Generally I do maps with friends. The Tamer takes care of the aw's, the bard takes care of the Balrons and my plan is to go around and animate/WoD everything.

However, down the road I might want to try solo'ing lvl sixes. What um...is the best template for that?

A Tamer/Carto is probably a smarter way to go. Plus with 110 taming and lore that gives you 99% to control greater dragons. Hmm............

Indeed and the 110 SW will give you a fairly decent time of Ethy voyage for the initial spawn and will help you finish the aw's as they take to flight.

Hmm....there are some items/talismans that give a taming bonus isn't there?

Yes, you can get (if you use the best items)

+45taming and +45 lore

Taming mark of trav(+10taming/lore)
Birds of Brit tali +5 both
And then +15taming and lore jewels

The Mark of the Travesty and Birds of Brit tali would work out well for me. I'd rather save the jewels for an orny and crystaline ring. Um....are those expensive pieces, the mark and the birds?

Before you buy it, maybe think of testing it on test just to make sure its suited to your playstyle. After all you dont want to spend alot of money and not like it.

I should definitely give that a shot, good idea. Though I still like that item for other reasons so I may buy it when I find one, if I find one.
