Any temporary trial codes for returning players?

Hello,

I have taken about a 2 year break from UO and have recently been missing the fun times I had in Sosaria. I had thought about reactivating my account for a month to see if it would be worth coming back, but was wondering if there are any free trial codes I could use instead?

I was also wondering if a couple of my friends are still playing... Kimmera or Assia Penryn? It would be nice to have a familiar face to play with if I came back.

I left mainly due to the horrible graphics of KR, as well as the display bugs. Did these ever get fixed?

Is there a place I can go to see current screen shots of the game?

Are my characters saved and waiting for me to log back in, or am I going to have to start an account all over?

Thanks for the link to the new SA client screen shots. It looks pretty good. It's the gameplay and character develpment that I miss the most about UO. No other game title compares.

How are the current graphics/glitches? Like dye tubs, mounts when in a run to name a couple.

Also, are there any 14 day free trial codes I can use to see if the game is worth coming back to?

Okay, now I am really worried.

I just remembered my username and password for MyUO. I checked for my Shard and cannot find any of my old characters...

I hope they weren't deleted. If they were, I will definitely NOT be returning to UO.

My uo only shows characters that have been logged in during the past 30 days.

Oh, well that's promising. I did select - Since Last Login. I'm not so much worried about my stuff, because I gave all that away when I quit 2 years ago, as I am about my characters. I would hate to have to raise Taming all the way up again. Ugh!

I guess I could just reactivate my account and pay the monthly fee. It's worth spending $12.99 for one month to see if it will be worth coming back to the game.

I just hope the things that drove me away to begin with have changed.

You might want to wait until SA is released to make the determination if the changes that drove you away are still in play. KR is still the 3d client being used. 2d is still an option of course but it sounds like you are looking to use a 3d client. In that case, wait until SA is released and see what you think of it. SA Beta just began and it is scheduled to be released this summer. When exactly, well I suppose that is determined by when it's truly ready (I hope).

You can use the trial KR code if you have a credit card you haven't used with EA before. That will allow you to look around. Of course, you can activate your account for a month as you mentioned.

True. But instead of reactivating a old account to see if he likes the changes might as well start a new account play with it a bit and he don't like the changes he won't waste the money on the old account. As is return to brit codes might work if you still one.

If you create a new account, you can get access to much of the new content (it's fairly restricted, though, in what you can do) just to get a feel for things. If you think you ight like to play, cancel the trial account,a nd reactivate your old one. That's what I did; I didn't want to waste money if I didn't want to come back, but here I am... and I ain't goin' nowhere.

I might try the new account trial code, just to check it out again. The main thing that drove me away was the horrible attempt at a new graphics client with KR.

The delay at getting KR out, the bad graphics, animation glitches, new UI to get used to, and the time it took them to address all the new issues was too much to bear.

Starting a new character will limit how much of the world I can visit though. It might be worth reactivating my old account just so I can travel/fight easier.

I also want to see just how much stuff I still have. I'm sure I still have all my pets, which is good. I know all my arties are gone, but I'm just wondering how much remains in my bank boxes. That, too might decide if it's worth coming back to the game.

If I remember correctly, the prices are a bit higher for a 30 days code.
Also the new dungeons are not accessible without the proper expansion registered for the account.
