I have read somewhere on the net that 8x8 boating for training is no longer possible on UO. Does anyone know if thats true? I was under the impression as long as it was done without scripting that it was ok.

But with 8x8 you could get consecutive runs of 3 or more in a row. I know casting on a spellbook works but haven't been as lucky with musicianship, peace or archery

8x8 no longer works, they gave us GGS instead.
they made a change which accidentally broke 8 x 8, but it's not needed now.
you can stand in one spot and area peace yourself for gains. Many people train melee skills on golem. Personally I prefer to gain through play.

Does this change have any effect on taming. For instance can you get gains off of your tames ie: tame same bull over and over.
No, you have to tame different animals if you want any sensible gains - though taming redefines the word "sensible" like poisoning does!
No, because of the coding that allows non-tamers to re-tame their pets if they accidentally go wild.
