Anyone know the name of the Quest.Quest Giver for Pendant of the Magi?

Anyone know the name of the Quest.Quest Giver for Pendant of the Magi?

I am looking to get this on Lake Austin.

I have tried to Google it and have simply not found any combination that gives me enough information to proceed.

Any help here will be greatly appreciated.

There are multiple quest givers that can give quests that you can get the pendant scroll. They are mostly located in the hut to the West and there are a couple quest givers behind the hut that give the bottle/beer tap/and windchime quests. I normally just go to the hut and do the tinker tool quest (I didn't see that one listed on the UOGuide website), since I usually have pretty good luck getting all the tinkering scrolls from that quest.

So I assume it is a random reward then. If so then I suppose I should pay attention to the term "RARE" on the UOGuide?

It is indeed rare. You're going to have tons of other kinds in the mean time.

I have already burned through 10K Iron Ingots doing the Fancy Wind Chime Quest.

Is that the best quest to get that recipe?

So far I have snagged a Scrappers Compendium and my scribe mem'd it, a Rune Carving Knife that my Tailor/Metal crafter mem'd.

Some Alchemist recipe's that I am keeping and a crap load of Bow's, that I already had a crap load of .....

I guess I need to break my Miner out and go mine 60K Iron Ingots or so, go thing he is on the other account.

Might look at how much iron it takes to do the tinker tool quest. You should also be getting scrolls for the Resillient Bracer (bracelet) and Essence of Battle (ring) as well as the Pendant scroll. Tonight I'll look through my crafters bank box and see what scrolls I saved on LA.

Just looked and it takes 15 ingots per wind chime, but only 2 ingots to make a tinker tool, so I would be doing the tinker tool quest (20 ingots vs 150). The quest is called Nesessity's Mother.

As far as the Tinker Tool vs the Fancy Wind Chimes. I did that Tinker tool one maybe 10 times in a row and got basically junk, A ring with some +1 something or other a bracelet with a +1 or something various bows and bladed things but nada, not a single recipe.

For the Fancy Wind Chimes I was getting a scroll for approximately 14 of 15 completions.

I would appreciate any help on the recipe for the Pendant of the Magi.

It seemed to me from the few quests variations I did that the more difficult (as in the higher to To Make skill requirement) the higher the chance to get a recipe. It could also have been Gold amount related as far as I know. The Fancy Wind Chime is a 82+ for Tinker skill and 15 Ingots, you need to make 10 so with no fails that would be 150 Ingots.

While I will not dispute your assertion, I will restate this fact. I did 10 consecutive Tinker Tool Quests and got 0 (ZERO), NADA, not a single recipe.

I have no clue how they coded this, but one might make a reasonable assumption that the chance to get a Pendant of the Magi Recipe is some how dependent on getting a recipe as in if you never get a recipe then one might reasonably assume one will never get a recipe for the Pendant of the Magi.

I've tried it for a while this evening. Did 30 or 40 quests from Sleen, all of the tinker tool variety. Loads of recipes including 3x runic carving knife. All the alchy recipes and two stone anvils. I did hit a run of rubbish elven armour but that's the way it goes. Good luck getting the pendant recipe.

Just did the tinker tool quests on LA and within the first 1,000 ingots I got a scrappers, resillient bracer, couple of the south and east stone anvils, and a pendant scroll. I also got many duplicates of the hovering wisp, rune carving knives, and the alchemy scrolls. If I get another pendant scroll tonight its yours.

Just got a vorpal bunny summoning tali.

Update: Used 5,115 ingots doing the tinker tool quest and ended up getting 3 pendant, 2 scrappers, 4 essence of battle, and 1 resillient bracer scrolls.

Great, just curious, did you get a scroll on most of the quest or were the streaks of none.

Usually about 4 out of 10 bags would have scroll. Normally those scrolls would be for either the hovering wisp, invis/darkglow/parasitic potions, hovering wisp, rune carving blade, or stone anvil scrolls.

*Shrug* Ok, I am going to do the Tinker Tool quest and try to fill out the rest of the spells I may want to have access to.

I guess I just ran into a bad RNG string there and certainly will use the Tinker Tool as it is both less Ingots and lower Skill to make.
