WHATS UP? another wave of duped items??

i take a little break and recently i played again, but not so much.

These days i'm playing a lot and what i see now is:

- A Lot, i mean "A LOT" of Europe gold dress and clothes all around,
on player, on shops, all over...what the hell happen?
(of course i'm not asking what devs are doing because i just know the
answer = Nothing!)

- A lot of valorite/verite hammer, server birth, almost rare items all over
the shops (comment like above)

and so on...


What the hell are devs doing? coffe? tea? smooking? sleeping?
Why, .....i mean, "why" they dont say the truth...at last one time
in all their life, on what "they can" and "cant do" about duping/duped items?


bha!

after more then 10years of uo now i feel like an idiot...working honestly
to get what i have, while peoples become rich in just few months!

before someone'll ask, the answer is "no",
i dont care about uo money, i care about what uo is now...really!

i'd like to play it again for many yeras, but i doubt i'll do it!

Frustrating isn't it?

Most dupers never get caught and if they do they don't care.. they just start another account and do it all over again... They use disposable accounts...

When they do ban some accounts for duping they go about it all wrong...

Then they have things they know are being duped like mad and they don't do anything about it... (fountains anyone!!!)....

This subject seriously ticks me off. There are folk out there duping things like crazy for profit and making RL money off it and what gets done about it? They wait and wait then when everyone points out the most blatant offender on the game.... they drop all his places and burn them to the ground after how many months of complaints???? And did anyone else notice that within a few weeks he had rebuilt elsewhere???

I am going to have a stab in the dark here....

Why the hell did the devs make the new faction bandages in europa yellow...its not bloody rocket science is it...someone as found a way to use the europa gold faction bandies for sure.....jeeze why that colour???

SO why the hell did they use that colour for the faction bandies- Devs own goal methinks.......dohhhhhhhh

There have been no less than two rares duping scares in the last several months.

Both have proven to not be dupes at all.

If you were a duper, you would probably want to concentrate on things that are less high-profile. Valorite runic hammers come to mind, "laundered" by quickly burning through the hammer to get some good armor, sold at high prices. Or, say, 1.0 Transcendence taming scrolls. 1 million gold checks then "laundered" by quickly turning them into gold, then back into checks. All the profit, considerably less risk, than duping rares.

They implemented my recommended fix for the worldgem bit exploit.
Dev's do something but most of the times the information they get cannot be verified.
Unfortunately this type of stuff is recognized too late, pacific vendors carry world gem bit exploit items for 10-15 million gold now.

I don't think there is a solution for human greed. I have been playing legit since I started (in 2000). Recently I found being a shard reporter is a good way to take my mind off of the cheating done by players playing a game I love.

It would be nice if players realized what cheating did to an economy such as Ultima Online, but usually by the time they do, its too late.

Got to admit this saddens me a lot too, been playing Uo for years building up my own bank pot of items, gold and suit on chars, then see a vendor (Europa) Luna with with every heartwood kit, high end hammer and carpentry runic, along with PoF for 20k, tons of mining gems and resources..yes go figure about that. I've often wondered how brokering websites are able to sell players endless high end Em items and deco..sashes, robes, boots etc just me making the missing link? Demand doesn't seem to outstrip supply of limited items for them.

yea, sad but true, like "411 view" and "6 comments" from players and
"0 comments" from devs (like always)

its only a "$$ JOB UO" now...

thats make me think to quit and play another dumb 3d game...
at last i dont have to pay to play for it and i dont have to care about

you know...in almost 10 years of playing, I never had a use for a broker. I'd never contemplate buying my items for real cash. To me thats just stupid. Bad enough i pay to play this stupidly crooked game.

Yes...there is another dupe. Pay close attention to people asking for high ticket items needing them in a hurry...I would suggest telling them to sit and spin...no matter how much they are offering for your item.

What you overzealously call a dupe, are merely suspicious items. I'd be careful shouting around the boards that there's a dupe going on, while there's no prove whatsoever except for your prejudice.

I'd report said items/vendors/dupes to a developer, and I'm pretty sure that they'll look into it.

Heh...you said the same thing the last time there was an active dupe...I think you have been duped about the dupe by the dupers.

Again, be cautious of people asking event items for more gold than they are worth (a few of these culprits will even tell you they need the items in a hurry). They dont mind spending more than its worth when they can dupe it 100s of times over.

I can't recall what I said about duped dupers. However, it seems like some people duped the dupers' dupes to make the impression that there's more dupes to be duped than actual dupers are duping.
