If you don't put mouse wheel macros for target self and last target then I'm not even going to give it a chance...

I agree.... want mouse wheel functions as well as I want to save my dang journal like I do with UO Journal Converter... are you going to allow for that to be made compatible with SA? Cause if I can't save my journals I don't want to log in.

Regarding Jaana's Staff
Last I heard, none of the Virtue Artifacts were PoF-able. Jeremy said at the time that, like the Redeemer being non-PoF-able, this was part of an experiment to limit the availability of certain items.

In retrospect, it's pretty clear this was an experiment to see if Imbuing would be well-received.

If you want to change your mind about the Virtue Artifacts fine, but why phrase it as an issue with the Staff? Is there some issue with just it and not with the others that I'm not aware of? And why not check the records and see why the decision was made to start with?

Also, a much bigger issue with the Virtue Artifacts is that they spawn far too-infrequently outside of Felucca to match their intent. That intent, again according to Jeremy, is to have something for the post-New Haven crowd to go for, to get them out onto the map and into the dungeons. You basically will have a very hard time getting one unless you're in Felucca, and the Fellies have zero interest in these items. They leave them on the ground in Despise. You don't get a lot of noobs in the dungeons of Felucca.

So why not address this, the pathetic spawn rate, instead of an issue I'm not sure I've heard anyone address? (If some of you find this to be an important issue, I apologize to you and have no intent whatsoever to belittle your concerns.)

Regarding the parts of this FoF that have to do with the Warriors of Destiny event cycle.
There were no such parts. Why is this?

Sorry, I don't meant to be negative, but I found this FoF to be about as disappointing as the last few. Maybe others disagree.

Just to check ... you're saying target friendly / target hostile mouse-wheel binding option in KR isn't enough?

Will we ever see any other artifacts that have cool special effects that are outside the normal weapon mods again?
You bet! I’m a big fan of endowing artifacts with interesting abilities and behaviors outside of the standard item properties. I’m sure we’ll see at least a few in Stygian Abyss!

Sounds good if it works as intended.

* Staff of Pyros: A rare chance of laying down a line of fire in the direction the wielder is facing, while attacking something.
* Vorpal Blade:
o A rare chance of instantly killing an NPC mobile
o An extremely rare chance of duplicating the blackhole attack of the Void Daemons, affecting NPC mobiles
* Berserker's Scythe: A determined chance of blackrock infecting the wielder's target

It's been close to 2 years I would say and as of yet have not seen the said effects on my Vorpal or any of the weapons listed above by other players.

Nice to see that they are covering all the important issues in UO.

There is lots of other things they should be answer questions about.

I've got this nagging feeling that they just read woden's thread, got confused as to which item he was talking about, and FoF'd it. Perhaps he didn't like the answers he recieved and submitted the question himself.

But indeed, all the Virtue artis were supposed to have "limited" lifetimes (except the Virtue armor, which has self repair out the wazoo), in order to prevent them from turning into frequent bank drops.

As it stands, they are merely infrequent bank drops, and on Oceania sell for roughly 50k or less a piece.

This is once explaeined in a FoF one and half a year ago as follows(FoF:September 21, 2007):
September 21, 2007

"Why can't Powder of Fortification be used on the new items dropping in the dungeons on Origin?"
We intend for these items to drop for a while, but don't want to flood the market with them - making them unfortifyable means that they will, eventually, get destroyed if used, and you'll have to return to the dungeons and hunt up more. Otherwise, we'd have stacks of them lying around the bank within a relatively short time.

This is not a precursor to taking out Powder of Fortification, as some people are speculating - doing that would require extensive changes to items and crafting to make it actually work. This is just a means of managing the rarity of these particular items in the game.
I have pointed out in my post about in 2005 or '06 that designs of the game in general are not shared among devs.

I appreciate excellent and dedicated woks of devs in other points, but I think this is one of bad heritages inherited even by the current dev team.

They already have a journal save in the KR client.

The mouse wheel does work, they just need to allow it to be hotkeyed and not hardkeyed.

It seems this is a perfect case of a phenomenon all too prevalent in this game recently. One hand has no clue what the other is doing, and no one ever looks at what went into the game. Gm's attempting to ban a miner carrying a lance while actually mining, because they have no idea how the game plays, people paging on someone because their fey leggings arent elves only. Cheese n Rice.

Agreed. It's stuff like this that really makes me nervous about new systems like imbuing. Right now the word is they can't be PoF'd. But the next gen of devs is a whole new ball game. If someone down the road decides to make imbued items PoFable then one skill replaces all other crafts.
