In the Stratics hunter's guide!?!?! I can get ya pictures and stuff. BTW, they do spawn on every shard in the Wisp dungeon. I'd be happy to provide the info on it for stratics. Just point me to where to send it!

Ty Petra. Okay I need some help confirming that the Dark Wisps do occur on every prod. shard in Wisp dungeon. I have confirmed that they are there on the following shards: Legends, Atlantic, Lakes Sup., and Great Lakes. If yoou play on a shrd other than those four and would like to help. We already know they spawn on Seige and Mugen. Any help will be appreciated once this is that they spawn in wisp dungeon on every shard I'll submit it stratics so the can add it to the monster info.

Also Dark Wisps do spawn as paragons, but they don't have to be a paragon to drop a chest.....The why part I haven't figured out yet. Ty in advance for evryone's help in this.

They're in Pacific too. We did a hunt this weekend and got chests as well as threads.

Ditto for Oceania. I think they started appearing there when Melissa first popped up, but I'm not sure (I don't think I ever stepped foot in that dungeon prior to that event. For all I know the dungeon wasn't even there before that...).

We don't have them floating about outside of the dungeon like Siege does, though.

The first time I saw them was for the Book of Truth event, when they started swarming the Lycaeum. They dropped paragon chests then, too (Luna quickly became flooded with the things). In fact, the only blackrock chest I have came off one of those.

Normal paragon chests have a "Dropped by such-and-such (Paragon)" tag on them. I can't remember if the wisp chests also have the "paragon" tag.

Edit: Whoops, I just killed one and got a chest. It does indeed have the paragon tag.

Edit 2: The chest had a Devious (lvl5) map in it.

What's scary is when you actually DO get a paragon one in the dungeon - or worse, TWO of them at once.

I've seen two tamers down there (before greater dragons), dropping the dark wisps and mages easily, then one or two paragons arrive, and everything goes gray, starting with the pets. With greater dragons, the dragons are likely to survive, but if the tamer gets targeted before the dragon can intercept the para, it's OoOooooooOOOs-ville.

Sonoma they are about...

some times they spawn as a harder Dark wisp but dont lable as paragon

and then there are the actual paragon ones too... they are even harder
and they drop chests the harder one and the paragon one...
hope that helps...
back to dark wisps....

I was a little disappointed after dueling a paragon dark wisp with a peace-summoner for an hour it turned out the chest wasn't any better than the "normal" one ... however, this is a great creature for treasure hunters to hunt if you want a supply of L5 maps.

During the Moonglow rift event, they had this annoying ability where they'd sort of glow then become invulnerable. Basically it was a waste of time to attack them until they snapped out of it. When fighting a group of the things, you had to pay attention or you were effectively throwing your damage output into a black hole.

Dunno if they still do that.

That's surprising to me. I took my spellweaver down there with an arctic ogre lord and it handled the paragon quite easily. Perhaps they are weak to cold and ice wyrms would serve better than other dragons.

Yes, they still do that dark wisp shield thing.

Add Yamato, Baja, Napa, Origin, and Europa to the list.

On Baja, killed a non-paragon one and got a chest. Gold was around 1700.

On Napa, killed a paragon with no chest. Gold was about 2700.

On Origin, killed a paragon and got TWO chests. Gold was about 2800. There seemed to be an awful lot of other loot on the corpse, so I'm guessing it might have killed someone and looted the chest. However, the gold amount didn't seem out of line with the other paragon killed on Napa. Who knows.

On Yamato and Europa, killed several non-paragons with no chests. Gold was around 1600 each.

I think the dark wisps summon mummies, revenants, and skeletal mages if you don't kill them quickly enough. Fun things to hunt with good gold and possibly decent loot.

Why? You can't infect things anymore. *frowns* I always do anyway but... it just isn't fun since they took that away.
If you have a piece of blackrock on you when the wisp puts up it's shield you "ignore" the shield and still damage them.
