Cursed Char?

One of my chars seems to have a problem with ALWAYS having a curse on her. She has been logged for 24 hours and when I log her in she still has the curse from yesterday. It started out as a different curse but now it's weaken. The info I get is:

Weaken
-1_AMT~%
Strength

Can anyone tell me how to fix my char?

She shows to have strength of 96 but she still cannot hold the lance that requires 95 strength.

No, this char is a fencer not a mage. I guess I can try finding an enchanted apple.

I was a little wrong in what I typed before as to what it says. I left one 1 "~".

You have to get someone to cast Weaken on you. When it wears off the icon should be gone. You could also try casting it on yourself if you have a Weaken scroll.

If worse comes to worst, you can always go fight Imps for a few minutes. One of them will cast it on you sooner or later. That will serve the same purpose.

if that doesn't work, you could always kill yourself. That will more than likely remove it.

The enchanted apples didn't work. However, my sister cast Weaken on me and it fixed it. Hopefully it will stay fixed. Thanks for all the suggestions!

Usually getting the spell cast on your char again will remove the buff, and as of the last patch dying will also remove any buffs (positive and negative).

If it weren't for ONE thing in the fact pattern you present, I would say that this is an example of a but that was common some months back, but since seems to have become less so.

Basically, if you're in a situation where a lot of curses are being cast upon you, one would "stick" in the buff/debuff bar thingie. The spell wouldn't actually be on you, the icon would just be stuck. Having the same spell cast on you again, for real, would reset the icon, and when it wore off or was removed properly, the icon would go away too.

The fact that this tactic worked for you suggests that this is the bug you were experiencing. As does the weird message you got when mousing over the icon.

However.....The one thing that gives me pause, and it gives me some SERIOUS pause, is that you couldn't hold the lance. That suggests that, somehow, the spell itself was stuck, not only the icon.

Also I haven't seen that bug in a long time, I could have sworn they fixed it.

I wonder if not only is it back now, but if it's back worse than before.

Sometimes I know it's hard to believe that I have played for 11 years, what with all the stuff I either don't know or forget. Keep that in mind as I ask this question.

When it says you have to have 95 str to hold/wear something can that be supplemented with armor, jewelry, etc? In other words if in reality I only have 88 str but with armor and jewelry it pushes it to 98, would I then be able to wear/hold something that requires 95 str?

My char has 88 str. With jewelry and armor it is at 98 but she still can't hold the lance that requires 95. Is that normal?

You should be able to hold the lance. I know in the past while training new chars, I've put on strength jewerly so that they could hold and wear items that required more strength than what they had.

I was afraid I would get that answer. So obviously there is still something wrong with my char. Guess I will do the impossible and page a GM next time I get in game.

I paged a GM last night about my char not being able to hold the lance that requires 95 str when my str was 100 enhanced with jewelry and armor. The response I got was that it appears this needs further investigation and to send in a bug report. I did and continued to work the char.

When her actual str got to 95 (it was 105 with enhancements) she was able to hold the lance. Has it been changed? Is this how it is intended to be now?
