Am I ready to fight The Dark Knight?

I have my Warrior character moving up and I still have my rune to the Dark Knight in Haven. My Warrior has:

65.0 Swords
70.4 Tactics
80.5 Anatomy
66.0 Bushido
83.1 Parry
60 Chivalry
68.7 Resist
and 62.3 Healing

I have never tried to fight The Dark Knight before. Should I wait a little longer, or am I ready to go at him now?

If you fail the recall/sacred journey the rune may glitch and you'll never get your chance. Not sure what the skill needed for 100% casting success is.

What stats and resistances does your warrior have?

The Knight isn't actually that strong, so long as you keep hitting him and have a vague idea how to heal yourself you shouldn't have that much trouble. A soul seeker is good for the cold damage. If you can melee, say, a demon, then you should be able to beat him without issue.

1 impt note: The rune is bugged - if you fail to sacred journey/recall off it, you may not be able to use it again. And with 60 chiv, you can still fail sacred journey.

I recommend raising chiv to at least 65 or buying 40 magery from the haven mages and then use a recall scroll. Or go into wraith form so that you can cast recall with 0 magery (I have not tried this personally).

Swords might also be a tad low at 65... So you need a good suit and bring potions. Best to train a bit more. You can train as much as you like before going. He'll always be there waiting anyway, no need to rush it.

I reckon the statue is worth having - more then worth the trip if you get one. The other two rewards do indeed suck. Unfortunately what you get is random.

I'm kinda wondering if the Knight will be effectively disabled when the KR client gets discontinued for SA.

100% success chance for chiv spells is around min skill + 50. SJ requires 15 skill, so 65 should be about right.

I just remembered, failing to defeat him the first time also means you won't get the rewards. So play it safe

It was worse being a 2-d player and wondering how I could fight him. If he's not disabled, keep him away from the eyes of 2-d users.

Of course I was a dumb newbie that studied the UO website for weeks before coming back.. and still thought once I left New Haven, Pkers were out there (Thanks Uo website!).

Not knowing how bad he was I over-did it. I brought pots, petals, enhanced bandages etc. etc. I wore the Knights Set from Spring Cleaning, a Soul Seeker and a can of whoop-ass. Pretty much destroyed him. I received the Ring of the Servant which goes in a glass case somewhere in hopes it may indeed be valuable.

You can't fight the Knight in the 2D client. You can, however, use the 2D client to train your character prior to the battle.
