You don't need recipe scrolls for the Darkwood armour set. As far as how much a set goes for, it's been a while since I saw a set on sale, but you could shop around and see how much the items to make the set would cost. You will need 20 each of the minor ingredents (Blight, Taint, Corruption, Muclent, Putrefaction, and Scourge), 1 each of the peerless main ingredent (Prox. Lard, Dreadhorns mane, Grizzled Bones, Diseased Bark, Eye of Travesty, Captured Essance), and finally the right lumber combination so that it comes out all 70's.

Or save your cash.....in a few weeks SA will be out and you'll be able to craft a fantabulous set of armour that makes darkwood look like a lollopop laying on the floor of a candy store......why on earth would you eat it?

I have 2 sets of darkwood armour, both bloodwood.

They give me all theoretically 80+resists (over 100 for fire, great for sampires), max dci, 35 rfd, 12 health regen and +10str. I dont need to wear a quiver for the +5% and it leaves me free to wear whatever jewels i need. I use a resi brace and fast cast ring.

The only downside is the high str requirment needed to wear the chest piece. I recommend having at least 100 resist if you wear it to nerf incoming curses. I have 105 +15 from resi brace.

I agree about the STR requirements, I had to drop my Dex to boost Str so that I could still keep armor on after imp curses :( The other drawback is there is no Mana Regen , so you must rely on a mana leech weapon and/or invest in 40 necro and 100 SS.

If you make the suit yourself, make one pc (most choose helm) from frostwood if you want an all 70's suit (otherwise you get 65 Cold). You will have only 10 MR rather than 12 MR, but paired with a crimmy and tali, the HP regen +14 . I used to use Bracelet of Health as well before they capped MR.

If you make both the chest and the legs out of ash the strength problem becomes a non issue, even against Dread Horn. It also makes the suit all 70's for Sampires.

How does that work? By my calculations, bloodwood should give merely 78/84/66/78/78.

You can go to the test shard and try out different wood combinations. I think the set I made was all bloodwood and one heartwood or maybe it was the other way around.
