This is great news. Supreem, will you be providing another option for making a character turn so that, for example, it's easier to use "open door" macros? Or will you be eliminating the requirement that you have to be facing the door you want to open with an "open door" macro?I saw that pressing CTRL on a KR client makes player stops, and there's nothing to avoid this. I used to put many combinated keys macroes on ctrl.. This will change on SA client? Thanks.
The idea behind the control key in the KR client was to allow players to face in a direction without running. This was because it was much harder in KR to face in a direction by single clicking. We will be removing this key assignment completely for SA since so many players use the control key for macros.

Not a bad solution for opening doors, but we would still have the issue of trying to step up to a podium and face the group in front of you.Or will you be eliminating the requirement that you have to be facing the door you want to open with an "open door" macro?
It's actually really easy to face doors in the new client without using the control key. You just run into the door and you will come to a stop facing it.This is great news. What he said...... or you could just use 2d..... *grins*...It's actually really easy to face doors in the new client without using the control key. You just run into the door and you will come to a stop facing it.
Well, since the User Interfaces will still be available for the SA client, using BBE UI- I just put party chat and alliance chat on separate tabs from system messages in the KR client. VERY nice chat feature, and not really anything to learn since it is always open on a character, and you can drag it anywhere to any size.... But I'm hoping speaking is fixed in SA to be like it is..... I don't want to relearn speaking/partychat/guildchat.........
I don't get it. Why would HLD being available on glasses dictate that HLA should also be available on glasses? Why is HLD available on glasses but HLA isn't?
Is the SA client going to be a top down 2D view like 2D and KR or is it going to be more like a 3d world like world of warcraft?
The SA client is an improvement on the KR client, and thus still keeps the UO 2.5D look and feel – featuring new terrain, particle effects, animations, and an enhanced UI

It would be nice if they released the 9th anniversary tilesets to everyone first...May 15, 2009
Will there be new housing tilesets in Stygian Abyss?
We will have additional tile sets added to the current ones.

NO...... I've tried talking in KR..... can't do it..... first you have to remember some silly crap about a spacebar or something stupid before you can talk... and I've yet to be able to figure out how the heck to talk in party or guild chat let alone alliance chat.... Can't tell what the heck is going on .... and NO idea how to work the stupid talking.... what was wrong with just typing????? or / , | , or \ ?...... didn't they work just fine????? Why did they go and change that???Well, since the User Interfaces will still be available for the SA client, using BBE UI- I just put party chat and alliance chat on separate tabs from system messages in the KR client. Well first off....... The argument is why change something that's been working fine for 10 years? What was the purpose? To confuse?...
You can set KR to work just like 2d in terms of pressing Enter or not to talk. For the channels, just hit /x (where x = the first word of the channel you wish to enter (/g for guild, /s for say (normal speech), /p for party, etc).
And honestly, the only argument you have about the chat system is "It's what I'm used to", in which case, a short amount of time using ANY chat system be it in UO or any other game and you'll get used to it as well. All of a sudden, pressing Enter to talk becomes second nature.
As for why the change for channel choices, its fits the current MMOG chat standard so that if someone has played other MMOGs but not UO, they would have a passing knowledge on how to use the chat system right off the bat (basically your own argument in the other direction).
My biggest beef with the KR chat system is that I could never find a font/color/size/etc... that was readable overheard. I am sure there is something out there that helps that but, like others, I am less interested in having to dig through hundreds of customized UI's to find something that makes what should work for me 'out of the box'.I had tried often to get the "Chat" system in KR to work... but I could never accept party, never alliance or guild chat at all... it was way more frustrating than it was worth.
Well I've tried every font/color I could, and it's just something about the overhead text that isn't right, I think it might be anti-aliasing because it always seems not crisp to me. I often resort to just looking in my chat window. I'd like to see this part fixed myself. My biggest beef with the KR chat system is that I could never find a font/color/size/etc... that was readable overheard.
