Skill Gain from Animal Form (Ninjitsu)

I would love to see a chance at skill gain from animal form. Yes, I realize that the minimum skill to cast it is 0, but each level of forms beyond requires a skill check... given the difficulty of using some of the other skills to gain, I would love to see using animal form give a chance to gain. It doesn't make sense that you can GGS off of a repair for a smith, but there's no chance to gain off of animal form... no matter what minimum skill is required to cast a given animal form.

Not to mention that if you don't have hiding/stealth, you can't gain ninjitsu past 72.5 unless you put on jewelry to get over 85 so you can death strike.

Ninjas without hiding or stealth is like a mage without eval or meditation. It makes no sense...la

I'd like to see this too. It would make training ninjitsu quite a bit easier. As it is I always do hide/stealth with it so I just shadowjump from the 50's to the 70's then peter out (I don't train it to GM). Would be great to be able to pick up gains in the 70's from doing llama/ostard form since I don't do weapon skills with these characters.

Rico said it best.. a ninja (by historical definition) is useless without hiding and stealth.

Some skills were meant to be tied together.. this is one of them.

There's definitely very good synergies between ninjitsu/hiding/stealth. But besides my normally stealth mage with 70 ninjitsu, I also just completed training my non-hiding/non-stealth sammy with 120 ninjitsu.

So my warrior actually has more ninjitsu than my stealth mage :D And There's a very good reason for that which I learned from someone on these boards. Mirror image deflection = ninjitsu skill - 30.

ie at 120 skill, I have a 90% chance to not get hit :D

That's around 3 times higher than 120 parry! Haven't done a test drive yet though, just hit 120 after a very long time, now waiting to stone med and other "training" skills back to my skill holding char and swap my warrior's original skills.

Would have gone faster had I just blown a couple of hundred Gs and gotten a 120 ninja scroll for my skill holder...
