Template Question on a non-Sampire Bush-Paladin

Hey everyone.

I have a feeling this is going to be a very stupid question, but I'm going to ask it anyway, as I hope the answers will help me to understand things better.

I have one-and-a-half characters. The half is a Doom Paladin that I keep almost solely for camping in Doom. Lately I've decided it's time for him to be able to work the Gauntlet himself if need be. He can work the rooms solo right now, but it's rough, and he cannot possibly solo a DF. Right now he is a Chiv-Swordsman with Parry.

I'd rather not make him a Sampire, for a lot of reasons.

So....Here is the template I thought of just now:

115 Parry
115 Swords
100 Bushido
100 Focus (120?)
100 Tactics
50 Chivalry
70 Healing
70 Anatomy

Question of course is, is this a viable template for working the Doom Gauntlet, including the DF, solo.

Don't just say "this sucks, you noob."

Explain to me why it sucks, what it doesn't have that I need. I am here to learn. Galen is a great character, but he can't solo the Doom Gauntlet and besides....I've played him, in one form or another, for over 10 years now. I'm curious to branch out.

Thank you!

PS: Armor would be what I'm wearing now, which is heavily DCI, HCI, and Dex Bonus oriented, all 70s save for Poison which is only like 58; minimal LMC (minimal means like 10). Weapon would PROBABLY be the most leach-heavy Radiant Scimitar or Axe of some sort I can find. I am a strong believer in weapons having DI and SSI so I'd shoot for some of that too.

I'm sure most people would suggest dropping focus to 0.

At 100 it gives you something like 5 MR and 10 SR? If you could afford to purchase armour with these mods, or rely on stamina and mana leech on a weapon, you could free up 100 skill points.

Which might be used to, say, raise Anatomy and Healing to 100, Swords, Parry and Bushido to 120 (if you can pay for the scrolls) and add 10 to Chivalry to reduce the number of times you will fail, say, Enemy of One.

So you would have:

120 Swords, Parry, Bushido
100 Anatomy, Tactics, Healing
60 Chivalry.

You'd still have, essentially, the same template. Just tightened up. You'll hit more, parry more and heal/deal more damage.

1. You don't need focus. Stamina leech on your weapon, divine fury and red potions are a good replacement.
2. You do need resist. Without resist spells, every time the dark father blood oaths you, you'll die unless you're faster than I am with removing curses.
3. Since you aren't leeching as much life back, you should definitely use higher healing and anatomy. And use enhanced bandages.

So your template should be:
swords (115-120)
tactics (90)
healing (90)
anatomy (90)
bushido (115-120)
parry (115-120)
resist (90)
chivalry (60)

Which means yes, you need 8 skills and probably need to add in some +skill jewels (45 points in the case shown above)

The things you should worry about are
a. Not getting hit
b. Healing fast enough to counter the huge damage from DF and friends
c. Hitting more frequently

I concur. Resist is a must have for Doom otherwise Blood Oath will have you pushing daisies.

The thread, "For those of you who are unsure," while old, still holds valid information regarding the non-vamp form samurai. Specifically, the first half dozen or so posts are very good, bearing in mind that that post was created before resist helped nullify the effect of blood oath.
