I hate the UO website

Someone changed the latest updates so it now redirects to the herald news index instead of the patch notes list.

It would have been better if they never started making updates to the site, the old one is still better in every way possible.

The latest updates havn't even been updated since Publish 55.

yeah they want you to use the filters now.
It was nice being able to scroll down to the first publish in uo. now i guess history stops at 2008

i remember once taking a 2 year break from UO, coming back, reading the website before i played and feeling I hadn't missed a single change. The things I thought would be over powered had become over powered and the things I thought were nerfed, were nerfed all from reading patch notes.

The website is more useless than Shadowbanes....

We have copied over all the updates to the patch, publish, and news sections from that page to the UO Herald. We published them with their original post dates to keep historical accuracy. By using the appropriate filters on the UO Herald you will be able to retrieve the type information you seek. Moving forward all updates will be on the UO Herald.

The "Patch Notes" has stuff about Publishes, and the "Publish Notes" has stuff about Patches.

My suggestion would be to keep them separate, or have a single tab called "Updates" or something like that.

Either way, an explanation of which is which would be good too.

Sure beats the crap out of trying to navigate EA's ebil website. The person that made that mess on EA needs to be forced to watch Leave It To Beaver episodes non-stop for a week.

The UO site doesn't look so bad though. Be nice if the beta sign-up was secure though...not to mention it treated me the same way it treated poor ol Kelmo when I used minimum info.

So now instead of having one page of publish notes, we have 20. And instead of a page which only included publishes, we have that and other notices such as when a publish launched and when it went on Test Center. Why do they keep worsening the website with "improvements".

I'm not defending the organization of the site (in fact I criticized it just above), just pointing out that there's more information there than folks were giving credit for.

This was the earliest entry I was able to find on http://update.uo.com/latest.html. If you scroll down to the bottom it says "May 25th Publish". We have only moved the information that was on this page.

Oh my.....You mean "recorded history" doesn't predate that?

After the smoke of SA and the still-incomplete Warriors of Destiny event cycle clears, you may want to have someone mine the Wayback machine for the rest...Use UltimaOnline.com and OWO.com. UO.com doesn't seem to have been purchased from an enterprising web site "claim jumped" until about April 1999.

I prefer the patches to be listed on one page, so that I can CTR-F and look for all instances of EVASION, or all changes to SWING SPEED, and so forth.
It's much harder to search when drilling through pages and pages.

Its funny b/c the old website's headliner still says "ORIGIN - Ultima Online". That's why its better than the new website!

I'll make sure this info gets added to the patch and publish archive on the UO Herald. I do want to let you all know that we are looking into a search feature for the news archives. Unfortunately, we do not have an ETA on this and I'll let you guys know as soon as I know.
