Question regarding a vet pick statue.

I recently purchased a harrower statue (10 year vet pick). When I go to turn it on it says I'm not old enough? My account is only 8 but since when do you need to be so old to turn on a statue? All it does is make noise. Paged a gm but .. well ya didnt get very far :/. I'm placing it in the home I own so that isn't an issue either. Is this intended or a bug? Thanks =)

Well if you are not old enough to get it as a vet reward it would make sense that you can't turn it on or off. I know I went and bought one for really cheap but I was lucky enough to buy it when it was already on.

In most cases vet rewards can only be used by accounts old enough to claim them as rewards. I think there are a few exceptions to this rule, but off the top of my head I can't remember for sure.

While I understand the rule, I don't fully agree with it. I'd love to be able to buy one of those resurrecting ankh's to put in my vendor house, but I'm not old enough yet. I should have never let my account go inactive for those 3 years, otherwise I'd be going on 10 years this fall.

Yea I can understand being old enough to pick the reward and what not. If it was someting like an ethy I'd understand better. But a statue just for sound seems rather silly. Ah well in 2 years I will be able to hear it. Lol.

*grins* I never fully understood the time framing on statues anyway, statues that only sit there and make racket aren't likely to give anyone an advantage, I think all statues new and old should be like a one or two year reward. Ethies, and usable things, maybe keep as is, but a statue?

I believe that if you lock it down in your home, then set access to "anyone" that a 10 year vet could come to your home and turn it on for you without any risk of someone stealing it.

I'd be happy to do it for you as well (any shard), just send me a PM. I think I can also safely vouch for Flutter's Honesty. Flutter has a very good reputation.

Well, there are a few of us 11+ folks around ya know; if you're on Chessie you could even have old man Winfield come by, he's about the most trustworthy fellow on the shard.

I have character on other shards, but mostly at random, but could easily roll up a bard to turn it on. Locking it down would be the simplest answer and then just name a time for "someone" to come by

Thanks again for that Sarsmi. I've gotten several hundred frostwood from that single stump, along with just about the same amount in bloodwood. My stump really likes those 2 types of woods.
