Factions Wrestle Mage

Hi Guys,

I was going to make a factions Wrestle Mage.

Skills

Wrestle 120
Med 120
Magery 115
EI 115
Resist 115
Scribe 100
Should i gain forcus until i can get +20 in Magery EI, Resist
Cap of 715

This is the items that i was considering equiping my mage with:-

Factions RBC
Factions Fey Leggings
Factions Kasa or HoM
Totem of the Void
Quiver of infinety
Ring 1/3
bracelet 1/3
Spellbook - which spellbook should i use - Scapper???
Should i throw on a PoM or a barbed kit gorget?
Also should i use an arcane shield or a shield with high HCI/DCI???

If you want a cheap mage template just go:

120 mage
120 eval
120 resist
120 med
100 scribe
100 ninja
40 focus

use mage wep with crystalline ring and get 60 focus

it's anti-dismount and good spell damage...works good if you have a pair of mages that use it

dont think this is gonna work.. cause he doesnt seem to have the $$ for scrolls i dont think hes gonna buy a mage wep :(

Built for defense and survivability. If you can manage 140 int your 6th circle dmg spells will do 30 dmg. Lightnings will do 18. (assuming cursed)

IMO that is the best mage build for small mage groups when you're outnumbered.

115 Magery (95 + faction crystalline 20)
115 Eval

105 Anatomy
120 Parry
90 Med
80 Ninja

Built for defense and survivability. If you can manage 140 int your 6th circle dmg spells will do 30 dmg. Lightnings will do 18. (assuming cursed)

IMO that is the best mage build for small mage groups when you're outnumbered.
Can you explain the 105 anatomy, is there a reason to have more than 85? I was under the impression that it worked like dp (200 total skill between mage/poisoning) where your anat+eval = 220. Just curious.

The formula is (Anat + Eval + 20) / 2 = Defensive Wrestling

Confirmed by Stratics website, EA's support website, and UOGuide.

I'm just curious, why the ninjutsu, Lynk? Mirror image? Cannot cast spells in animal form iirc.

Ninja is for mirror images and animal form.

I get dismounted, I spam images while chugging and mini healing until I can mount.

Often times you can't stick around to mount because there is a dread mare or super dragon on you. In these cases I run through a 1 tile alley and mirror image to stam block pet until I can form away, come out of form, mirror image, mount.

It's purely for defense and works quite well. Pretty much unstoppable if you have a couple of crosshealers with the same build. The group only works when outnumbered if everyone has the same defensive build. You're only as strong as the weakest link, and if there is someone that's not designed for being outnumbered they will get singled out and while cross healing them you will die.

Even by myself I don't die unless it's 5 to 1 and my parry RNG tells me to f*** off.

depending on how I make my suite ill have a couple other bonuses maybe ill use a spell book for more magery or the midnight braces.Good,bad any feedback is welcomed Thx.

Just remember that for pvp, for this kind of template, you want no less than 106 magery in order to not fizzle level 7 spells even tho you don't rely on a level 7th spell, when you try to use it you want it to work, Same with necro, i think the min is 105 on necro tho, to be able to cast strangle with out fail. If neither of those things is a problem for you then it seems fine to me as long as you get plenty or mr and lmc. also remember the higher your magery the more you will heal with the two healing spells. The only other thing of note is you want to have 120 defensive skill, in this case wrestling, if you can handle not having disarm/para as specials then i would replace the 100 wrestling with 100 anatomy that will give you 120 defensive wrestling just no special moves.

Ok sorry to jump in here but I'm a little confused. I've been out of UO for almost 2yrs with bein in the military. Just gettin rdy to come home from deployment after 15months and going to get back into factions etc. My skills I'm lookin at are

120:
Mage
Eval
Med
Resist
Wrestle

GM:
Scribe
Stealing
Detect
(i swich as needed, current shard has a zerg stealther guild and detect is a must, definately outweights the 10sdi. Stealing for SIGs rarely used but helpful)

I seen the GM anat, so my question is with 120 eval and gm anat you have the equivalent of 120 wrestle(capped defensive skill), sacrificing the ability to use disarm/paralyze for 20 points? I know this is breaking it down barney style but if this is the case I'm looking at removing my gm skill for anat and 120 wrestle for another useful skill whether be ninja or what have you(discuss topic as well).

I apologize for the wall and thank you ahead of time for any advice. Also asking for PM's or what have you for other shards PvP status. I moved to Sonoma before I joined the military and from what I'm seeing now it's one massive zerg guild against a few here and there. Looking for faction/red pvp with no huge guild against few small guilds. 4 guilds with even numbers is obviously ideal but this is the real world.

Also, is the 120 parry still requiring 80dex, and nubish enough is 120 parry = 120 wrestle = 120eval/100anat?

etc., so many combinations..

120wrestle=120eval/100anat

120parry rolls after.

Assuming 80dex and ceterus parabus:

120wrestle, 120eval/100anat = 50%chance to not be hit(first roll)

120parry = 35%chance of blocking a hit(if hit second roll)

Which = 17.5%chance of being hit (if my maths is right)

Isn't it more around a 35% chance to be hit after 120 defensive skill and 120 parry? If you have a 100 chance to hit then you take away 50pct from 120 defensive skill you have a 50 chance to hit take away 30 pct of that and you have a 35 chance to hit...of course I'm not looking at the uo math right now, so your calculations may be more accurate...
