[UO Herald] EA Opens Applications for Ultima Online: Stygian Abyss Beta Test

FAIRFAX, Va.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Mythic Entertainment, an Electronic Arts Inc. (NASDAQ:ERTS) studio, today announced that it is now accepting applications for the Ultima Online™: Stygian Abyss™ closed beta test at http://www.uoherald.com/beta. Beta testers for Stygian Abyss, the upcoming expansion to one of the longest-running MMORPGs in history, will have the chance to experience the playable Gargoyle race before anyone else.


The closed beta, set to begin later this month, has a limited number of available spots for eligible applicants. Closed beta testers must be current Ultima Online subscribers and will be selected based on computer system specs, previous testing experience, community involvement and other criteria.

Ultima Online: Stygian Abyss expansion requires the original Ultima Online game to play and will be available in the Summer of 2009 via digital distribution only. Every beta software in the worlds first criteria is computer specs. It's how they learn the minimum requirements and best suited requirements to use the software.

I sent in my application about an hour ago :thumbsup:

i had hopes until i saw the community involvement and other as criteria will be the same as always i will be excluded and i guantee i have more uo accts than anyone that are all fully developed with every kind char and have played 11 years . no need to apply the slots already taken

see you prove my point it will be because you one in a guild(assume big do not know gl ) like pvp and know a lot of people while i am a stay back and play my own game player. my friend tease me when we meet with who is going to meet my tonight

I don't know that many people and I have been in three of the past betas. I play alone 99% of the time.

yah but i think others were a had to be on when they put keys in. could be wrong i was in kr also. seems to me it was keep trying to see when they loaded new codes

Chrissay, I realize this is taking some time, but is there any estimated time frame on when this will become secure? Just wondering in hopes I won't be too late to sign up. Applications will still be considered at that time, correct?
