Alright so a couple weeks in, and I have a Samurai/Necro Warrior cranking along.
I wanted to kind of get a "report card" on where I am, and where I need to go as my skills are moving in the GM/Elder/Legendary area now.

Midori

Current location: Yomatsu Mines

Stats:
Str 127
Dex 150
Int 53

Roughly:
95 Anat, Bush and Tac
100 Swords
120 Parry
99 Necro
60 Chiv
*95 SS and 70 Resist on Stones

Currently about 35 DCI, 30 HLD and 0 HCI.

Gear:
Mace and Shield Reading Glasses
Jackal's Collar
Crimson Cincture
Quiver of Infinity
Library Talisman - A Primer On Arms Damage Removal
Heart of the Lion (Rune Beetle at home)
Fey Leggings
Stormgrip
Barbed Stuuded Hiro Shoulders (21/7/7/24/18) 2 Mana Regen
Jewelry (Combined): +13 Dex, +39 Dmg, LRC 18
Weapon: Soul Seeker
Synopsis:

Right now I see my weak spots as Jewelry, shoulders, weapon and perhaps my gloves. I started in the Yomatsu Mines about three hours ago and could barely take a Warrior. Now I can take two and three.

I need a little advise about where to aim now. I have blown through about 5 Bronze hammers trying to upgrade my weapon with no real luck. And my skills are slow to gain now. Any thoughts on upgrades and possible training spots?

The gloves are fine, you just need to find the shoulders to go with it. You might also look at replacing the Jackal's with a crafted gorget to make it easier. LRC is something you don't need so your jewels can definitely be upgraded. Another thing to look for is a Conjurer's Trinket, which unless you're fighting anything from the Repond group, is much better than the Primer On Arms.

Other than that keep banging away at the warriors.

Thanks Connor, you have been a huge help. One area in particular that is bugging me is my Anatomy skill. At 93.8 it is lagging behind Swords (101.5) and Tactics (97.3). I am hoping that it will catch up to the other scores.

As far as gains go this might not be the best suggestion but at about your lvl I headed to the cyclopse dungeon and didnt really have any trouble with soulseeker. I just got bored with the warriors.
Everyone says to do warriors so I assume it is better gains but by the time I hit 115 (didnt have a 120 swords scroll) I had about 10 titan paragon boxes and a ton of etten and cyclopse boxes. As far as your gear is concerned you have better than I did when I went over there so you should have no troubles.

Thank you Korak. My roommate calls my Samurai "Paris Hilton" because I spent a ton of gold on gearing her up. She is a spoiled avatar. lol

I thought about heading to the Titan spawn, but I wanted to get my Resist up a bit. I have to GM Anatomy (98.8 atm) and bring my Bushido up. I have only been able to find a 115 Bushido scroll on Sonoma so far, but I will eventually get a 120. Then it is just a matter of getting the right weapon, jewels and the odd armor piece.

Connor, out of curiousity why do you say crafted neck piece over Jackal's?

Is it for more overall resists? Medable armor...?

Just curious since the Jackal's does offer quite a few good things for a sampire... and as an elf you don't get the JoAT passive med either.

It's because as you suspect. You cannot meditate in that piece, and really its easy to fill the dexterity through a couple of other multi-stat armor pieces.

Rocklin,
here's some advice I can offer.
Fine a nice abandoned Spawn in Felucca. I prefer Destard because of the type of lowlevel spawn there. Get your Soulseeker and just start whirlwinding everything you can get on you. Because of the amount of spawn you are hitting constantly, you will gain Anatomy, Tactics, and swords like a madman. This also works incredibly for see-sawing Stats.

That's what I did. Took me to 120 swords on my sampire in no time.
And you can get nice SoT's!:D

For the arties, my sammy wear almost the same ones. But I use the faction versions hehehehe (I'm a PvM'r teehee).

One of the arties you are using that I am not is the Jackals, swap it out like Connor says. It's not meddable and cuts your passive mana regen, esp if you are human (since you have 20 med from JOAT).

The other arty would be the conjurer's totem.

For crafted arms and gorget, I have MR 2 pieces with high physical and fire to overcap, so that I still have 70 fire resists in vamp form and 70 physical when I get hit by specials from certain mobs (fire is more important to overcap by far).

I use +HCI +dex +dmg jewels. No LRC or LMC (might consider imbueing these properties once SA has been released).

For weapons, I have a bunch of twinking scimitars on switch, made from aggy hammers, so 4 properties. LL, ML, SSI are on most. Main difference between the weapons is the 4th property - differences are some have elemental damage conversion, some have hit area effect, others have slayer. I also keep a soulseeker with me at all times. Very useful mini arty.

Twinking scimitar receipe gives extra 6% DCI. 120 smithy and 100 armslore gives a free 40% DI.

Hi Rocklin,

What's your final template going to be? I don't mean to hijack your thread, but just wondering if you're taking swords to 120 on your sampire.

I have a new account and it seems that most sampire builds total 720 skill pts. My skill cap is still at 700 so wondering what I should sacrifice: 120 swords, 120 parry or 120 bushido.

Thanks.

Nevermind, I found another thread of yours, You used PSscroll to 120 for swords. :)

120 swords > 120 bushido

120 busido > 120 parry

If you really have to sacrifice, I'd recommend lowering anatomy.

If you have a soul seeker and necromancy (vamp form), it's pretty near impossible to get yourself killed with cyclopses from about 80 swords onward.

My own samurai has pretty much your template, and also never has a problem with paragons cyclopses or titans. I used to have trouble, but then I discovered the wonders that are DCI and evasion.

By using the Jackal's you're missing out on properties that it doesn't have, such as mana regen. Dex is easily obtained by other means.

Well Fumoffu I am still not sure what my main template will be. As you said, you saw what I had, but to reiterate:

120 Swords (PS already used)
120 Parry (PS already used)
120 Bushido (looking for a 120, used a 115 so far)
100 Tactics
99 Anatomy
61 Chivalry
100 SS/Anatomy/Resist (depending on the need)

I am not sure if I should be running with Anatomy for damage, SS for a backup heal, or Resist. I think the Resist is more situational, so I think for now most likely Anatomy in the mix until I up my gears overall damage. Then, I will most likely run with SS for an extra healing kick.

Or just use all 3 and swap them out on soulstones depending on what you plan on doing. That's what I do.

You say you recommend not using Jackals, but I'm still not seeing it... the extra dex means that you only need another 10 dex/stam total on the rest of your gear to hit 150 stam. It seems like this opens up more options on other pieces to get your lmc/mr.

The other pieces are providing the DCI and HLD. You only get a couple of crafted pieces you can use in your suit, and using the Jackal's takes one of those away. One that could very well provide MR 2 and Stam Inc 8, not to mention LMC. Dex can be obtained via Mace & Shield, Crimson Cincture, and ring & brace. Using up an armor slot for a single stat isn't good planning, not when that stat can be obtained in places you can't get your MR and SI in.

This has been discussed constantly it seems. It is plain and simple. You can combine various pieces, neck in this case and say sleeves for another piece. Legs are another piece just for another example. Just have the stamina cap on both. Problem solved. Additionally, now you can:

1. Meditate
2. Not be restricted to using a neck as a centerpiece
3. Have other MORE useful stats included on your set
4. THIS frankly applies to all dexxer suits.

Take it with a grain of salt, but some people are lazy when putting together suits. I understand the cost concern, but I know plenty of people on this forum who would help someone if needed. The main issue is usually not the same shard. That said, I have every craft capped out. If you need armor pieces, problem solved.

If you are going for faction artifacts + skill items to fit healing in the template, then the jackals collar is PERFECT.

How much healing we talking about?
