Windows 7 and SA compatibility?

While Windows 7 is still in beta it is not officially supported. Once the operating system has been released we will then be able to support it.

I just installed the RC version 7100

UO, & UOKR run just fine.

If I could Beta test SA. I would let you know how well it works on any OS.

There were a couple other threads on Windows 7 and UO. The report then was that there were no known problems and things were running smoothly. I assume nothing has changed and no reason it shouldn't do as well with SA.

By the way, there will be an XP virtualization download that will let XP run in a virtual machine under Windows 7 for program compatibility... but will take a lot of memory to set up.

OH - huge caveat. Watch the notes for expiration. Windows 7 RC will start shutting itself down every two hours sometime next March, and stop working completely I think in June of next year. So, plan ahead!

I'm sure EA has to run through their own battery of tests before blessing UO and SA as supported on Windows 7. I'm also sure someone at Mythic took the time to download the RC's since last Thursday.

For those that know what this is, this RC allows for Virtualizing an XP environment for compatibility. I have not set this up yet, but it is on my todo list for UO and EQ.
