I just read a suggestion for taming that implied you could could just honor yourself and tame (against aggressive monsters). Does this work for greater dragons? If it does i sure do feel stupid for not trying it earlier, lol.

Use Hiding, Invis spell/potion to scout keeper GDs then use Honor to Tame.

Honour is how I do my taming. I find that it works well and I just keep honouring what I hunt. So I keep my honor up. So far I have managed to tame cu's, lesser hiryus, a greater, rune beetle using it.

I haven't tried honor taming before either. Will it keep other spawns off you while your taming? For instance, will it keep those damned elders and priests calm while I tame the fire beetle? Would this work, beat down the beetle, invis, and then honor?

The Golden Rule of Honor, taming, is to remember that anything that is agro'd on you prior to you Honoring yourself will remain agro'd on you.

If you discover something is agro'd on you and it is of concern, then do an Invis/Hide and lose the agro.

Once Honored (honor yourself) nothing, new, is going to aggro on you, while the Honor is running.

The Taming cycle will state, "You have angered the beast", but the To Tame Target will NOT attack you.

Okay. thats pretty damn cool. So it would work for treasure maps then as well? My Tamer is also going to be a t-hunter.

You may not want to use it for T maps, if you do them in volume it's easy to use your honor up and it takes a lot of pvm'ing to replenish it up to usable levels. I usually just do the invis/run tactic of digging up treasure chests. Stick your pet a ways off, like a couple screens away. Start to dig up the chest then pre-cast invis and right before it pops up target yourself. Now run off the screen tol your pet. You might end up getting a mob which is fine, you can just re-invis when it gets closer and sic your pet on it, rinse and repeat till the guardians are down.

To safely get items out of the chest and not be targeted you can stand in specific places. It can take some trial and error. What I usually do is this:

32
X1

I tell my pet "all follow me" and walk south towards the chest (the X) and on its east side (the 1). Now my pet is oriented on the 2 and I walk back north one tile and to the west so I'm on the 3. After your pet kills something re-command it to follow you so it doesn't wander off the tile. That's one I can think of off the top of my head for keeping the spawn off you and on your pet when it pops up. There are other ways to do it if there's a tree in your way or something, just have to experiment a bit and find what you're comfortable with. :)

Follower of Honor is the sweet spot. You will use one blue dot per use and the time is enough to get a decent amount of attempts off before it drops. Once you've done it a few times you can gauge when it's going to drop and get safe, the mob doesn't hesitate once it goes to remind you why you used it to begin with.
