So now that we all know how to build and use sampires and whammy's...

Whats the best way to take one out? My sampire can solo doom (cept df) without huge difficulty, how do I kill something like that.

Pretty easy actually. Sampires aren't going to do 150 damage crits with Enemy of One to another player, so their life leech won't really do much.

Most sampires don't have healing like mine does, so for those I would just use a nox fencer. Vamp form doesn't cure level 5 poison and they can't chug cure pots, so they stay poisoned.

If you're playing a mage they aren't a real threat because again they aren't doing huge uber damage so they won't be leeching that much mana back. A quick mana vamp and their defensive bushido spells are pretty much out of the picture and you don't have to worry about them spamming conc blow on you.

Poison, it makes so much sense. It seems to be the achilles heel of sampires.

I ask for two reasons, for my spawn raider and for my sampire.

So in light of these new offensive tactics, does anyone have any defensive tricks.

Don't put yourself in PvP scenarios with a sampire.

You can also use a talisman of ward removal to knock them out of form.

That could actually help them, then they could chug pots. Dont quite understand it but i always seem to have cure pots on my sampire.

PvPing with a sampire...that's just silly. As has been stated, you're not leeching enough HP's to stay alive, especially if fighting a mage or an archer...toe to toe with a dexer you've got better odds, but still not best to go out looking for a fight on a sampire unless you've got a different template set up as opposed to a PvM Sampire.

Pretty much only a PvM template. Being in undead form for long durations is plain silly. Additionally can't use some potions in vamp form. Not so wise. Need I go on?

What usually works best for PvM doesn't work best for PvP.

I'm certainly not a great PvPer, but I have *yet* to win a fight on my sampire when attacked in Fel (usually at champ spawns, cleaning up with whirlwind). My ABC archer, on the other hand, is running about 50/50, even though that's a mostly pvm template as well. If there's a way to play sampires effectively in pvp, I certainly haven't found it yet.

If you've got healing and a mana pool above 60 it's possible to stay alive and occasionally get kills, but the offensive power just isn't there.

I suppose at that point the best thing to do aside from run is to have some weapon change macros preset. that way you could swap to proper gear. Your still tied to your template but how you fight could make the difference between living and a deathrobe. Just a thought.
