Scriptors overrun Atlantic?

I have only been on Atlantic for 4 months but it seems that any given time there are a ton of script miners. I usually kill them and I know they muct be scripting b/c an hour later their ghost is still sitting there logged in. The GMs do not seem to care, b/c after multiple pages over the months,they are still at it. Now the crazy thing about this is last month I was at luna bank working my carpentry when i see the red Gm text appear asking me if i was there. WTF? They will bother someone who is ingame doing something but cant take the time to see noone should stay logged in as a ghost for over an hour out in the middle of nowhere?

I just do not get it.

Plus it's really not a huge deal balance wise. If someone is mining while stairing at the screen its the same to you as if they are afk.

You're kidding right. Someone running a script mining on multiple computers or even one computer, 23 hours a day while they are no where near their computer, is the same as if I stare I my screen mining for the few hours I have to do so? Legit miners spend hours staring at their screen doing a mundaine task to try and make some money and support the communty and these guys have script that in some cases can even log them in, so they can be away from their computer for weeks making a fortune mining.

...so someone starring at the screen is no different than a script miner running when the player is nowhere near the computer? A scripter nowhere near the computer is basically no different than an NPC, they don't respond, and just do the same thing over and over until the server ends or they stop the script.
Please, explain your reasoning Larry so it actually makes sense. Otherwise it's a non-sense

I try to block the script miners whenever I can. I mine legit and can't stand these fake miners. Why do they even play? I'll bet they are just as fake in real life.

They run extra accounts for scripts and make non stop profit off them. That's why. This all originated when you could sell UO Gold for a higher trade rate than some country's currency. At one point UO gold was trading at $25 per/mil and the Italian Lira was $22 per/Mil.

That was around 99, I remember because I chose the Lira, looked like a better deal and trust me, 2 weeks in Italy was far better than 2 weeks in UO.

People were using UO as their Job back then.

Don't kill them. Go mine up 300 stones worth of ore. Drop it near them, they will grab it and become over weight. When they try to recall they won't be able to and there script will bug out. Your chances of GM response are better with a player casting recall every 2.0 seconds vs sitting there as a ghost.
If they have a firebeetle with them bag ball them and kill the beetle. I haven't been able to get a response from gm's so I just make stupid comic strips about players. I have heard rumors of GM's actually responding to scripters but have never seem it myself.

I hate to say it but the complaints about these cheaters made sense to me pre aos. In this gear is everything world, the cheaters all work against each other to make the best stuff more common. Rather than 5 pvpers with the best gear from paying rl money for it, half the pvpers on a shard have amazing gear. It only makes it easier for players to reach the end game these days.

My point is that as far as you are concerned, they gain the same amount of ore afk or not afk.

Scripts are undetectable, many macro miners do it while at their computer. In your view there's no difference balance wise.
